G.Skill F2-6400PHU2-2GBNR on P5B dlx cant get stable at all.

    Hi,

i have bought some G.Skill F2-6400PHU2-2GBNR, but i cant get them stable in memtest. If i run memtest, i get errors. I have tried them on 2 different P5B systems with no luck.

    In the settings posted here
it says 1.8v, but if i try and run mine at 1.8v, they error immediately in memtest. (it also says 1.9v on the sticker on the ram)

I have tried 1:1 E6300 @ 7x400 = ddr800 (i have some corsair that works at this speed so i know the rest of the system is fine), but i get errors after a few minutes in memtest.

I have tried the exact settings that are posted in the above link (266 fsb, ddr-800 for the ram, ram voltage 1.9 (1.8 wont work at all) everything else on that page auto. mem timings 5, 5, 5, 15, 4, 42, 10, 10, 10, 10, auto.

tried the black slots and the yellow slots with similar results.

    can anyone help me please?

    thanks.

I have the same problem with a DS3. Despite G-Skill Tech saying that the NR is fine and has been tested it won't work for me. It wouldn't post at 1.8V or 1.9V - not until I put 2.2V into it. Even then I get errors and crashes even when running one DIMM only, and even when underclocked. I'm pretty sure that the memory is fine though as I get no memtest errors running either dimm on it's own. I have tried all versions of BIOS, including beta.

I know that the board and CPU are OK as I am running it fine with some cheap PNY PC4300 DDR2.

Very frustrating and a waste of £160.

looks like both of you have 629 sticks.
according to our europe tech and clunker

you can try 5-5-5-15-4-42-3-11-6-13 1.8v and see

my 10-10-10-10 are not the optimal timing. it is lazy timing.....

What about me then, is there nothing I can do?

Why will mine not even post with less than 2.2V - is it a fault?

    Apologies, I misread your post.

I have tried the timings suggested (adapted for a DS3 BIOS) but it still won't post. I will RMA as you suggested in the other thread.
