I left the stock Toxic speeds but changed all the memory timings to match my HIS timings.

I changed the VGPU Volt from 1.45 (stock) to 1.5 for 3D mode only.

I slightly upped the default fan speed and set more aggressive speeds, dependant on temp.

I've done much testing & my card run's great with this modded bios. I'm trying to find an HIS X1900XTX IceQ3 Turbo bios to play with & mod but can't find one.

Here's what you end up seeing in ATI CCC.

I have been looking for a program all over the place to mod my X1900XTX Toxic bios for its temps and voltages and speeds, could you please tell me what program you used...

i tryed rabbit v2.1 but when i flashed the bios back to the card in CCC it only reported the 2d clocks as the 3dclocks lol

wow, infineon ram too. I wonder when they started doing that? I suppose it saves them money in the long run. The average user would have no clue as they don't remove the stock cooler to check.

yea well XTX are suppose to come with 1.1ns ram. He is the first and only person to prove otherwise. There isn't a soul in this forum who wouldn't have known better before his post that they weren't getting 1.1ns ram when the bought an XTX, XT perhaps not but XTX yes. I feel bad for him and it isn't his fault.

    Hey guys,

I've got a sapphire X1900XT and was just wondering what the chances are that it has BJ11 ram?

I have epoxyed ram sinks on and the core is being cooled by a maze 4 so I cant take the ramsinks off to see if it has the BJ11.

    Thanks
    Jon

I also have a fan over the ramsinks now so temps shouldnt be a problem.

EDIT: Just read a few posts above, looks like I have infineon too.

Sorry I still have no clue on how to translate 1.1ns-to-mhz.speed. But even when I feel bad for you blind_ripper, if your XTX gets to the announced RAM speed, you can't say that's not what you paid for. If the card fails to get there, then that's another story. Even if overdrive can't get to its "max".

Again, I still sorry for you because my first Sapphire was a XT with BJ11, but it was bought in May. I guess Sapphire is trying to lower costs now the cards are sold for less than in May/June.

man i havent checked my chips on my xt yet but i was playing with it the day i got it and i benched 850 without even trying.. i went straight for 900, crashed it and i havent felt like overclocking since... pretty sure that means 1.1...

I'm working on custom making a cooler for it before i have some real fun.

Hey Ice. So I too have a HIS1900XT Ice3q and flashed my bios to your custom rom. Worked great. I am curious tho about what u did to the timings in the bios. I ham only scoring 5094 for 3dmark 06. Seems kinda low. I am using Catalyst 6.8. Here are my PC specs.

    Abit AT832X
    Opteron 170 @ 2.7Ghz
    Gskill HZ PC500

Everything is pretty much tweaked. Im not running atitool., just running the card @ your 675/800 spec. Just figured i'd score higher in 3dmark. Any idea why?

The timings are pretty much the same as your stock bios...It may be your PC holding you back. Look thru this page and compare your score with others close to yours. http://www.xtremesystems.org/forums/...php?t=88168Did

If you start getting lock up's from heat, I made this bios awhile back that has even more aggressive fan speeds dependant on temp's. http://rapidshare.de/files/33651330/...ooler.rom.html

Using the same vid card and bios (675/801) as you, here's what I get using 6.8 cat's in 3DM06. My PC is OC'd to 3.3GHz and my PC spec's are in my sig.

Rusty and others, in the pic it shows your comp with the slots covers removed. Did you find a decrease in your temos by doing this?

I thought that if you removed them your air flow through the case would not be as efficient. I am getting my x1900xt tommorow I guess I will see myself soon enough.

Guys....I've been reading this thread, and just gotta couple of questions, since I got an x1900XT coming this week

    1. is the flashing procedure on pg1 still valid to flash the bios to a x1900xtx? I have a 256MB card coming rather than the 512mb...will this make a difference?

    2. seems like a lot of people are just using the catalyst control panel 'ATI Overdrive' section to overclock this guy...is this the way to go, or remain with the ATItool at techpowerup?

I dont wanna OC'it too much, as I plan to keep stock cooling, and dont want to raise the heat/noise ratio too much. Just wanna squeeze a little more power and fps out of it.
