How much can I OC a E6400 with stock HSF
Any retail E6600 owners out there try the new F4e? I could care less about you lucky ES folk.
Bios work fine, but i cant boot over 460FSB (with none bios!)
i try 4 CPUs (E6300, E6400, E6600 & X6800) & 2 mainboards!
Now i order the second 2GBHZ Kit

I just flashed F4E on my DS3. No difference in overclocking ability for me. Here are my details:Originally Posted by Brahmzy

Couldn't make 375 fsb stable. After 2 hours of messing with bios settings, the only setting that seemed to help me OC is cpu voltage and I'm not willing to go over 1.5.
I suppose I'm a bit disappointed to top out at 366 FSB, but I want a stable overclock, and going from 2.4 GHz stock to 3.3 GHz isn't too shabby. I think the retail B2 steppings on average will OC noticeably lower than the B1 cherrypicked samples that got everyone excited.
My overclock has gone down know, it is early though so maybe i just missing something

What about a correct f3d bios for the ds4? Lets hope the new bios will fix the CAS 5(3) bug.

and the compatibility issue with 7 series nvidia cards, this ones doin me box in!
and what issues is that steve ?
i have a 7800 GTX and this board has zero issues for me.
infact i have been able to overclock the card further with this baord than i have with any other

ive got a leadtek 7800GTX on a DS4 with F3 Bios.
Just resets itself every time i change anything, this is with 2.1V on Vdimm and Team Xtreem 6400 kit
The F4e actually stopped my DS3 from running at CL3!
I can now use FSB400 with 1:1 Memory, which is enough for now.
Inaccepteable however is that I still have to reset the bios each time I restat my computer if I ovverclocked, no matter how stable it is. I hope the final F4 will change that.
That is good news!!Originally Posted by Kampfflummi

soki, i'm now using the f3d BIOS which are meant for dq6 and it's working great.
steve b, where did you get your F3 BIOS anyway?
Well after alot of playing round with the new DS3 beta F3E bios I have just about run out of patience, while it does overclock for me now I got a FSB wall at about 370mhz and no amount of bios tweaking will get me past it.
Off to a friends place tomorrow to try my E6400, mem and video in an Asus P5B Deluxe, if things go well this DS3 may very well end up on Ebay, thanks to Gigabyte for the worst new motherboard experience I've had in the last 10+ years of building PCs.
try the same CPU on another board to see which causes the "wall", possibly it's your CPU instead of the board, coz there are so many 5xx FSB cases overhere....if YES, I'd recommend you to sell your CPU and go for the next one instead dude.Originally Posted by Shonky
Thank you so much kenofstephen. Cas latency problem on the 1:1 ratio has now been solved for me. Thanks again.
