AMD allows you to select lower multipliers on all their Athlon 64 CPU's. I don't know why Intel doesn't offer this option on retail Core 2 Duo's.

i'd prefer it if all multiplier were unlocked across the range (up and down), with speed binning seperating the pricing, rather than locked cpu's.
I thought only rev 304 and above would run Conroe without a mod.![]()

I don't think the revision is an issue. I saw this jumper on the revison 304 board as well. You are correct that 302's aren't suppose to bea able to run Conroe but the jumper is on that board as well. I'll edit the first post maybe take out revision #. The rep said it would work on all Intel 975BX boards, I've just only seen a 302 & 304 revison with the jumper & haven't tried it myself.Originally Posted by uclajd
