    My new evap mount

I decided I needed a new mounting system. Allow me introduce "MEGA-MOUNT" heh.. Features 50mm lockdown nut for the holding plate so mounting should be spot on every time

    Thanks

Really nice, how are you holding the evap in place?

    Thx for the feedback.

Yes, forgot to add that. I wanted it so it can mount pretty much any evap regardless of the size nicely, this is why I made it adjustable depending on the size of the evap. If the evap does not protrude out far enough from the housing I am going to add some washers like this to the top of the evap. Obviously the more I add the more it will protrude from the bottom of the housing.

With a 59/58mm diameter so it slides into the housing & sits on the 45mm inner lip which is near the top of the housing. I can add as many as I like until the evap has sufficent clearance from the housing.

Awww... good stuff... vapochill revisited... I can't just seem to get away from ideas of vapochill mount... :P
Now, what evap is it? It looks... tiny.

    thanks all for the feedback.

I only put that in as a demonstration, as I dont have my others cut yet. That evap is around 20mm diameter.

It will house a 40mm diameter evap.

What material is the washer being made?

Also, using that U shape, there will be air inside the enclosure.

Washers have been scraped. I'm now using reducers like this

Which slot in perfectly together so no air pockets.

The housing can hold up to 5 reducers to reduce the diameter to whatever size your evap is

I've now gone back to the origional idea of hardened custom made "C Washers", as I think this works best for all sized evaps.

This way the entire housing can be installed without having to remove the suction line.

Slide the C-Washer over the suction. Use as many as you want until the evap is just clear of the base of the housing.

Now to fill the gap with a thin piece of neoprene:

And if you want to get hardcore I can add a piece of sticky neoprene inbetween the c-washers.

Then slide the evap into the housing. The Washers are a tight fit so they dont fall out.

    Looking inside:

    Install the final neoprene rings:

    Our finished unit:

    Thanks

The plastic washer would cause some condensation if it is in contact with the evap and the enclosure, because it will tranfer cold to the outside.
It is almost identical to our current enclosure mounting system, but you have to use a different mat for the washer...

    It is?

Can I see some pics of yours please?

What do you mean a different mat for the washer? Different material? I dont think so.. I think it could easily handle a downforce of around 50-60kg's no problem (if not more).

I highly doubt it will transfer any condensation to the outer housing shell unless the evap is sitting on > -100c, & if there is, i'll just add a neoprene ring around the outer housing There's almost an inch of solid plastic between the evap & outer shell (depending on the size of evap used).

I will be testing it shortly with evap on -50c, i'll leave it idling for a few hours & see if there's any condensation

Added LGA/478/S939/754/AM2 support. Also added centering washers to the springs so they dont move around while tightening.

I'm not talking about how much pressure it withstand, I'm talking about insulation properties

Same mounting method (vapochill method) different matherial.

Plastic don't have any kind of insulation properties.

Yes, sure, adding a piece of armaflex in the outer shell will help, but then, thats a fix for something that intends not to be fixed.

I'm not ing your work, I'm just making a constructive critic, so you can make a better product.

The only bit actually touching the outer shell is the tip of the washer, as they are actually angled inward with neoprene either side. Even if the cold reaches that far its not going to be anywhere near enough to create condensation on the outer housing.

    That makes no sense.

I know that & welcome any input so thx

What is the white material your using around the actual evap? Looks like hardened plastic? Or is it styrofoam?

    Nice housings BTW

What I mean is that we (you , me and anyone doing any kind of enclosure) try get the perfect mounting system, I hate to insulate the outer part of the enclosure.

That material is called Polifan, is expanded extruded polystyrene, it's dense (3cm of polyfan insulates like 12cm of wood), and strong ( can tolerate a weight of up to 40ton/m2)

Mega mount revised. C-Washers now support both 1/4" & 3/8" suction lines. Added new mounting bracket & rear hold down plate. Got rid of the springs as they where to expensive

    Thanks
