WTF, have you confirmed that one stick is 1GB during POST or in Windows? I thought 512 could be double sided, maybe not with these IC's tho I don't know.

The 1gb stick posts into Windows although I haven't tested how high/tight it can run. I thought I had told you already that if they were fatties, double sided means that it's a 1gb stick .....

With DDR2...you can get a 1GB stick with IC's on only 1 side of the PCB....expect to see 2GB sticks become more common in the near future.

If have buyed 2GB Crucial Ballistix DDR2-800 CL4 for 199 € in an action on www.alternate.de (Germany)

today i want know wich chips are under the Heatspreaders and i decide to remove the HS.

And this is what i found:

Are there realy D9 on this Cheap RAM's ?

A funny thing is the relabe you can see the original Micron label and over it is a simple BALISTIX.

I Have Tested the RAM's on an AOpen i975Xa-YDG and i gived 2,5 V VDimm and can go to 418,5 ( 3-3-3-12 ) whit Activ Cooling, but i cant give X-X-2-X at this Clocks. I cant get higher Clock wich an 251 MHz FSB.

    Sorry for my bad english.

You don't have the well known Fatbody chips, but a newer D9, it should clock very well on a little bit looser timings than fatbody, just try it, those sticks are very good for that price you've paid

    My Rig:
    Intel Core 2 Duo E6400
    2x512mb Micron PC3200 OEM D9DQW "Fatbody"
    Biostar TForce P965 Deluxe
    MSI/Medion GeForce 6700XL (Cheap )
Chieftec 360W (in search for someting better)
    WD 160GB S-ATA

    416 @ 4-3-3-12 is no Problem with 2,3 V

The only Problem is than i can never Test the Max Clocks, with the 667 divider of the AOpen Board can i get only 418 MHz by the Best FSB 251 MHz

Right now i don't have a DDR2 board . You see , i'm waiting for conroe mobos and right know nothing is available in Greece (except Intel) ...

I'll test them tomorrow with a 930 and a P5LD2 with a single stage ... Hope to clock nice .

i bet they do. my crucial value stick does quite well, even if it's a 256mb with BN-3

bummer.. i have the same set as you, it seems that 4-4-3 is capable of 520mhz

i should pop off the spreaders as well and see if it's the same B6 chip binned to -25F speeds. how did you take off the spreader without ripping up the chips too?

i pushed a credit card under the metal Clips on both sides and pull them up.
Then i use a hair dryer aber make the HS hot so i can pull the HS up from the Chips.

mmmmm, the sticker probably says .16FB, doesn't it? (or are they 512mb sticks, single sided. that'd make it .8FB )
    you're a lucky one. haha

i guess i'll pop the spreaders off my ballistix too, but i have a feeling that i'll see -25F binned D9GMH under there
