It is actually a carry-over term from Bok's stats page for the various DC projects...
One of the stats is 'Days to Barbecue' which refers to how many days it will be until you pass your next victim in the stats...
BBQ is our (Team XS) term for passing DPC (Dutch Power Cows, another DC team)... DPC is currently in a 'stampede' (also referred to by us as a 'shampede') in that all members, or as many as are capable, switch their concentration of computing power to one DC project as voted by their membership... the real irony is that we are still beating them even during their precous little stampede.
I'd say that about sums it all up...

I have severe sleep problems. Sleep apnea and other probs.
I took a new medication last night, when I went to bed. Didn't get me much more sleep, but when I wokeup Ididn'tknow what dayit was. At first I thought I was late for work, then I realized I was off on weekends. Speaking of that, 20 minutes after I got home yesterday, some woman form work called me and said my supervisor wanted her to call me to see if I wanted to work today. I respectfully declined. Sure, I can use the money, but I hate the place ( and needed the rest). Gotta find away to start saying yes, though; have some stuff coming up and I can definitely use extra $$!

If you take Ambien...you should get an observer, you can do some crazyon that and wake up the next morning feeling like a champ (and like a glut--sleep eating is a known problem). I guess it could be a good way to get a crunching farm up

I just googled Sleep Apnea....wow, that's not cool
Anyway, yeah, Ambien is probably gonna get black boxed (gov't says use it at your own risk--drug company is no longer culpable for problems) in the next two months. LOTS of reports of sleep eating, sleep working, sleep vacuuming, sleep cooking (dangerous), sleep "living," but people would wake up feeling rested. Studies are noticing it as well....big problems
Anyway, yeah....get something set up to watch yourself. If you don't do anything out of the norm, good....but if you do you'll know to stop and get a good laugh at the same time
