Ok. I havent actually done any systems in a while so it was time to do something.

The system is SC12CLX, LU-VE condenser+fan, Honeywel AEL1 CPEV, and a nice litle evap. R402a.

The evap is rather small. The base is 44m and the height is about 25mm. Base and top is about 3mm and the layers are 2.5mm. I conected the layers with grinder.

Lowest 0w temp with the valve fully closed was -63c and the best loaded with 180w load tester was -44c.

What material is the suction line made of??

And then please can you tell me what purpose the superdeheater got?? I haven't figured it out yet

That suctionline is made out of stainless steel. I used the de-superheat coil just to fight vibrations on this system. It isnt actually needed since the condencer is more than enough on its own.

I might sell few of these evaps

WITH A GRINDER
do you rotate the copper rod when using the grinder??
thats a nice idea on the suction line hey.

No the evaps were machined with some automatic and very expensive equipement All I did with the grinder was grinding the small pieces off every layer to make connect them. But it is possible to make evaps like this with a grinder. It takes some time and you might need to make an jig/wise for the grinder and then feed the copper manually.

You aren't using fans on condenser ??

This is propably the only picture of the valve uninsullated. It has the inlet tube anready brazed and the line connecting it to the evap can be seen in the picture too. And yes there is a fan and it is working even tough you cant realy see it spinning in the pictures. The fan is integrated to the shroud

What is that silver substance on the suction line ?

What tube You have used after condenser (to CPEV) and from CPEV to evap ??

That silvery stuff is just duct tape The tube from filter-to-valve and valve-to-evap is soft copper capillary 2.5mm ID and 4mm OD.

Is the flexion tube of 3/8, not?

THanks. The flex tube is like 10mm ID even tough it is supposed to be 3/8.

Have you finished this cooler yet? I am curious if you like the setup.

I have lightened the picture below and notice the feed line is not connected to the cpev yet.

Yes we finished the cooler last saturday. The setup worked pretty well IMHO. 180w loadresistor @ -44c is not bad Without load the evap was -48c with the valve in that same setting, but it was already flooding back to the compressor. We'll see how my friends opty likes the cold

Heres a picture of the unit halfway insulated and evaccing. The picture is not that good but you can propably see the valve where we left it.

Oh and the base is just 37 x 37cm square
