    TeamGroup 2x1gb pc4000 Cronus!

With the recent cancellation of Crucial Ballistix, I feel the Cronus series from Team is a very well timed product, which will fill in an important gap that the Ballistix leaves.

why will they replace the ballistix? see for yourself:

before you jump out of your seat shouting "micron! " know that i have been using these sticks for over a month now, and i see no reason to believe that F die will have the same problems as D. It even runs cooler

now, I've been hesistant to put up my findings on this ram quite yet due to some issues I have been trying to resolve with my motherboard. Sadly, my plans for a good replacement board fell through as it ended up being dead (thanks for trying anyways steve ), and I haven't spotted any other good deals on a new board.. being a poor student, I can't very well just go out and buy a new one
So my next plan of attack was to resolve the issues my board has with a vmod to supplement Vtt. However, it appears that I should have done my homework better. The part I planned to use has problems supplying reliable power at the lower voltages that Vtt runs at, so this part will have to wait until I get the replacement voltage regulator that'll do the trick...

that said, let's move onto the part that you guys actually care about

first, I went for max mhz with the tightest timings that could be done at stock. nothing exceptional, but definitly good compared to the only other easily obtainable high clocking 64mb IC, samsung UCCC:

but that's not really all that fun. let's really push it, but with a new version of cpu-z that recognizes the sticks

hmmm, noy bad eh? but wait, i think my motherboard is causing me problems.. more voltage leads to a decrease in performance, which is opposite of everything but 3-3-3, 1T. let's give 2T a shot

i'm banking on being able to do those speeds at 1T once this dfi nf4 stops giving me fits

    btw, i can do 2-2-2 at 200mhz
Got a fan over those memory sticks? No? Well get to it before you kill them

awsome results, but i have to ask to see if the same problems are still there.

Is it cs:s or UT2004 stable (prolly the 2 most games that require stable ram)

    @ozzimark,

Do you mind telling us how did you get those modules? I could not find ANY retailer (even international ones) carrying those, yet. And you're the 2nd person I've seen showing it... Thanks

Thanks for your answer... Madshrimps did a "TeamGroup Roundup" last month which included TXDR2048M500HC3DC. That's why I was thinking that so far only reviewers/testers have access to those

yup, it does seem that way. i honestly wish that team would hurry up in getting these available. you can probably email sales and ask for a kit directly though

the kits in that review were bought by Berry from Team Group reseller; so not directly from TeamGroup, should be available in stores.

i'll get a set for testing.
but i think i'll only let anyone buy them if they run for a few months without dying.

also i'll contact Team and ask them how long and at what voltage they've tested these IC's

edit: email sent. will post reply
