New Epox 8RDA3+ Revision. How can i make the Vdimm Vmod now?? *photo*

Hello, i have a brandnew 8RDA3+ and the area arround the Vdimm Mod look a little bit different like the older Boards, so that the Mod is not make like the Motherboard FAQ Site .

Have anybody an idea how it works?

tried seeing how far it will go with slack timings and default volts?

If it cant go anywhere, a vdimm mod isnt worth so much

Agree with STEvil. If your board will not get decent clocks with your current hardware, then not sure the Vdimm mod is gonna yield tremendous results.

If you do decide to look into this, then try this.

Do a connectivity test between the Vdimm sense pin I labeled and the surrounding resistors and FETs to see where the circuit is going. Also try to see if you can figure out which trace on the back of the board is the Vdimm trace. That pin dives into the pcb and a trace has to be on the bottom I would suspect.

Also, the same controller for Vdimm does have a Vtt built in regulator as well. But, there is also an IC right next to the W83301DR that is just a Vtt regulator. They must be working together with the W83301DR controlling the Vtt and sending that signal to the W83310DS IC. A connectivity test is also needed here.

Find the FETs that are reading Vdimm and Vtt and point those out.

I like my women the way I like my processors...naked.
I am not the HellFire that writes bios files. I work strictly on voltage modifications.

Thank you Hell-Fire. Nice infos...i will see that i can do it in next days. The max. FSB with my Rams ist 220Mhz and max. of this Board ist arround 235MHz (its not so much with 2Vdd and Watercooled ). So i will push up my Rams to 235Mhz.

    is that the rev3.x
a few things have changed since rev1.x thats for sure
    mine went to 230FSB with 7 3 3 2 and 2.9v

one thing that i have noticed is that this board i cant boot a vcore in bios over 2v (1.97v real) the mobo goes into sleep mode
with the rev1.x and the same powersupply i could uses 2.2v

this is the area near the socket rev3.x

i think i can get even higher FSB if i can select vigher vcores

does anyone know the history/why these changes were made and what they should imporve

Yes, thats the same Revision 3.x like my Board. A lot of the FETs are no more on this Board and it looks a bit to clean but it works good for me. But i dont used Vcore in the moment over 1.85 real Volts but it undervolts very much. 1.9Vcore Bios = 1.85V real. I only need more Vdimm.

do you have SATA hard disks?
i had to return 2 mobos before i got a good one
first one didnt like SATA drives just wouldnt run
second one die after a day
and this one seems fine, except its experiencing overcurrent protection circuit (i think) similar to that of the 8RDA+ mobos

    Those are piddly little mosfets...

the OCP mod likely has to do with the SMD resistors/capacitors to the left of the green electrolytic capacitors near the two IC's in your first pic kayl.

ill take some close ups of that area
then ppl can point me out to which pins i need to take readings from to help (if that does)
also those mosfets are damb piddly, but they seem to operate quiet cool, the older larger ones ran much hotter and need a fan blowing across them, these ones are cool to touch even with out a fan.

no sorry. my problem in the moment is that the board is built in and i have no ohter PC so its to difficult in the moment to messure it and do the first he test this vmod on my board . but iam very unhappy because the VDD Mod is not possible too like the old vmod and the board runs with 2VDD only a little over 230Mhz. Why i have buyed this Board again in new Revision . Epox Nforce2 Boards are no more good Overclockerboards

    i would have to disagree
with moded bios (compiled with COMMAND PER CLOCK off, and a few other changes) i have seen someone hit 250FSB 100% stable
and other stock bios hit 240FSB
ps i can do 228FSB with vdd at 1.6v so me stoping at 231FSB isnt the epox mobo falt with enough FSB its other compents

    WHAT an old thread
Just do the 3.3V strap, the 8RDA/+ vdimm mod was faulty from the beginning, the vtt didn't track when doing it.
