    New Mushkin part-2GB PC4000 3-3-2-8

Coming out a bit later than they wanted to I'm afraid. Guess there was some IC sourcing issues or something I'm told. In any event, pretty good stuff.

will have to take pics of ram later as I was excited at the package I got and just put them in and began playing. I recieved these direct from Mushkin for testing purposes. I'm told they were picked from a line that was identical to their proposed retail binning process for this product. Upon relaying results, I'm told these are probably average or so, maybe slightly above in 3d respects. I'm told they have a kit in house that does 285 3d and super pi 32m totally stable.

That said, I can super pi 32 at 275mhz all day. 3d max seems to be 270 so far. I'm still playing with various tref to give me more stability.

IC's, haven't lifted spreaders, as this would violate terms of my testing agreement.

    thanks

btw as you might tell, I ran OCCT as I've found super pi 32m stable in some cases but OCCT fails. Also, ran all 3d benches in 3DMark2k1, not just the scored ones. Should give better indication of ability to run for awhile vs just a few mins. I've looped the demo for 2hrs plus. Haven't tried past that. 275 locks after a bit, hope with more tweaking to resolve this.

Thanks for sharing honest details about terms of testing and expected average.

Yes, sorry it's not yet for sale. Just giving some heads up, sorry I didn't clarify.

vmem I think was 2.9v, but I'll have to recheck that.

as far as sharing details on where I got and averages, I read a few posts both here and at ocforums that discussed potential misleading of people with post such as this, and I agree that disclosure of sources of mem, and possibilities of people being lead to believe above average results are the norm are not good for us a community as a whole, and Mushkin agrees with me on this I believe. We'll see if I get more kits to test in the future .

also Bacchus, sorry for the rub in the for sale forums. Was just my sardonic humor, but I apologize none-the-less. bad me

Nice 2gb sticks. Cant wait til sticks that are garunteed to do 300 3-3-3-8 come out. As far as stability goes, either try rainging trc to 12 or lowering tras to 7.

I can try trc of 7, but that's getting kinda tight considering other timings ie trp, trcd, cas etc...

as far as PC4800 for 2gb kits
    I'm all for it hehe!

    It'll run 280+ at 3-3-2 but I personally like it tight running around 250-255 at 2.5-3-2... This works great with this X2 3800 @ around 10 x 255...

This stuff can actually do very nice timings with DDR500-DDR520, that's what I'm impressed. Not all the memory controllers are able to handle speeds above 270MHz 3D stable. I know there's people who doesn't have good memory controller on their CPU but they still need fast memory
