Any GTO/GTO2 > 16 pipelines results yet?

Got my Connect3d x800gto today.
Modded to 16 pipelines with no worry once I found flashrom16p.

Have some results once I get home and put it in a real machine.

Edit : Some early results in a work machine. Core fails after 540, gets way too hot I think, got mem to 540 as well before I stopped and got back into work.

have a 400+ W psu, turn the fanon MAX using ati tool (i know its loud)

check under heatsink, what core u got?

my core can do 570, but overheats, at 63c, if overclocked, it gets unstable

I'll check it out tonight, don't have any thermal paste to apply at the moment.

The machine I was running it on here at work only had a 250W psu, I have a 500W at home though heh.

Didn't know about the fan control in ati tool, thanks for that.

I was wondering about a 3rd party heatsink for this card, anyone running anything but stock?

atitool->settings \|/ Fan Control

Cheers for that KoHaN, I don't think water is an option (I'm a cheap b@stard) but that cooler looks great.

Not sure if it'll fit in my case though, I have a Big Typhoon that is fairly close to the gfx card.
I'll do some measuring tonight though heh.

you can put the fan on either side of the heatsink

Had a look at the core, didn't say r480 or r423.
This is what was on there ::=

Chucked the fan on full, it is bf2 stable at 565/540. I think the mem's maxed bout there but I could bench up to 580 without anything major.
If I try 585, I get reboots and freezing.

Might be time to learn some voltmods?

I've been able to max out the core at 585 as well and gotten the mem above 600 successfully. I will look into the voltmod and see if I can squeeze a little more from this card. I did pop the heatsink and fan to attach the wb and noticed it is a R480 with Samsung memory. The only downside to this is that overclocking it raises the temps in the watercooling circuit so that would force me to move into a bigger radiator etc etc.

got my GTO2 today...been working on the mem mostly...got it up to 635mhz fuly stable....went for 640 and nature crashed winblows....

core im just sitting at 550 atm havent really tried on it

This is how I did it ::=

Created bootable cd using this technique and including the files for flashrom16p and the correct bios for your card.

Booted from the cd and ran "flashrom16p -f -p 0 newbios.bin"

Rebooted and enjoyed the goodness.

Connect3d x800 gto (for sapphire, replace the bios files)

Floppy Technique:

Insert unneeded floppy
run drdflash.exe (creates a bootfloppy)
copy contents of flashrom16p to floppy (root directory "a:\_HERE_", not a:\flashrom16p\_HERE_)

reboot, boot with floppy
(the c3d.bin is the back-ed up original 12pipeline connect3d bios, c3d16.bin is the 16 pipelines connect3d bios)

after it boots, type the following:

flashrom -f -p 0 c3d16.bin

it should say success or something.

If this guide does not work, you've done something wrong, read it again, and if still having problems, tell me

With artic cooler on and with VGPU MOD at 1.47. Probably going to have to do the OVP mod as any more than 675ish it crashes.
My motherboard only works at X8 pcie so that is prob why my score is very poor. I hope anyway
