Did anyone try it on i915 mobos?
unless i'm still totally wasted and am writing gibberish (and rememberingOriginally Posted by tonyl
even more of that), you have 2 i915 boards to chose from. asus p4gd1
and asus p4gpl-x, both supporting dothan/sonoma and pci-e gfx cards...
that's all you need really![]()
sky / s!p - we are oldskool, dammit.
Tried it last night, and it doesn't work...the board won't post even with the latest beta bios 1007.005Originally Posted by olDirdey

I tried a 760 with DFI 875 infinity (latest bios)
no post
i update the cpucode but not helped..
Updated the list with FERCSA's result.![]()

Did anybody try the CT-478 in the ASRock P4 Dual board? 915GL / ICH6 with AGP and PCI card interface. Super cheap here.

Here's my P4S800-MX running with CT-479 and Celeron M 350 @ 13x167MHz. It's running Fedora Core 4 without a hitch and I'm posting from this system now.
RAM is TwinMOS Speed Premium BH-5 512MB and graphics is NVIDIA GeForce DDR.

Might try my AI7 if I get around to reflashing the BIOS on it.

I'm not sure, but maybe it's the missing microcode for Dothan in the BIOS?Originally Posted by Mathias-K

Could be. That's just another reason why Linux would be great if it was made more n00b-friendlyOriginally Posted by Kamerat
Back on topic, i might squeeze in a test of my CT-479 on my brother's P4U800-X if i can lure i from him..

Fedora Core 4 is actually very n00b-friendly. I will say that it's easier to install than Windows.Originally Posted by Mathias-K

I once modified my Asus P3B-F BIOS with microcode supporting the Tualatin core, but I can't quite remember how I did it. It can't be that hard to update the code on the P4S800-MX.

I'm just about to install Kubuntu 5.10 on my test rig. After an okay impression of Ubuntu, i hope it's better.. If not, i'll give Fedora a go.Originally Posted by Kamerat

do you know is p4p800-F will work with ct-479
Bought a P-M Banias 1.4 and a P4P800-vm, thought I'd test the CPU and adapter in some "unsupported" P4 boards I own (all latest bioses from respective manufacturers):
Gigabyte 8IG1000-Pro G 865G/ICH5 - Does not boot, no beeps.
Gigabyte 8IPE1000 Pro 865PE/ICH5 - Does not boot, no beeps.
Albatron PX865PE Pro 865PE/ICH5 - Does not boot, no beeps.
ASRock P4V88 Via PT880/Via 8237 - Does not boot, no beeps.
In the P4P800-VM I took the CPU to 1.86GHz via the jumper on the Ct-479 (14x133 RAM at 333MHz).. sadly the board lacks any BIOS options.Still, the Pentium M is awesome.
