    Aluminum Mousepot!

I got my new Aluminum Mousepot in the mail this morning

Got to add a thermocouple... LOTS of electrical tape so it doesn't fall off like it always does on my other tube

    Ready to mount

Sorry about the stupid imageshack hosting. I usually use Evilsporks FTP for large pics but it's borked ATM

I'm about to mount the tube up and probably get some DI later today!

Ok just mounted it, I'll be getting some dry ice soon! My waterblock mounting hardware was to short to mount with springs so I use the following ghettotek mounting kit

    Stock AMD back plate
bolts and wing nuts off Dtek heatercore shroud kit
swiftech P4 block springs and washers

The insulation around the base was to thick and wouldn't mount right so I took it off and used my own pipe wrap insulation. I also had to slit the insulation on the tube a bit for the springs to fit. It works well though. Both times I test mounted it I got 100% perfect contact with my artic silver ceramique paste without even using bolts/springs. Just push down a bit and it spreads the whole die. Far better than any other cooler I've used.

    Pics of setup:

If you're curious, the tube is sitting on a naked 3700+ san diego KABGE 0529 APMW that did 2915 3d on a crappy mounted dtek socket a waterblock.

its beautiful. The temptations to do DI are overwhelming, but then theres the whole problem of "parents" and "chip that cant clock to save its life" and "motherboard that just sucks"... have fun with it afi
what're the dimensions on that? (Height, diameter with and without insulation, weight)?

Yes I have enough insulation, no I'm not running dbench.

I just changed the BIOS because my current one sucks. So far I got 3.2ghz. BIOS should fix some things up.

Deffinatly! I've been playing around with dry ice piece size like tiny vs larger chunks and there isn't much a difference. This solid unit is by far the nicest and and most well made cooler I've laid hands upon. And to think the copper unit is even better! I just need an FX57 now

I bought one myself, it should be here by next wednesday, i should be benching soon thereafter. Im so excited, this is my first time using Dice and i cant wait. Im so glad i was able to get into the Dice scene for only $100 and with it being a solid unit im sure temps will be great!

I was having major issues, LDT 4x was causing my keyboard to not work randomly. I wasted A LOT of ice figuring that out. I eveutually got 3.15 8m and 3.2 1m stable before switching to my old tube. I had seen -37C BIOS and lower on that before so I figured the aluminum might just suck. Boy was I wrong. After 2 mounts the lowest I saw was -25C. This new chip must have a more accurate sensor. I couldn't even boot 3.2 on it where as the aluminum unit could boot 3.3! I remounted the aluminum unit and poured my tons of left over acetone and some DI in and got 3.25 1m stable. I ran out of ice before I could get 3.3 stable or run 8m

    pics:

    setup overview

BIOS and base temps at idle

my little "pool" of acetone (way to much...)

Stupid me forgot to set my ram divider back up on my 3.25 pi run and I forgot I had CPUZ on validation screen

    http://valid.x86-secret.com/show_oc?id=38730
    CPUZ valid 3247mhz
I had SS at 3300, I will attempt 3300mhz Pi next weekend when I get more DIce and a gig of UTT or BH5. (only used 2*256 BH5 this time as I don't have a gig of ram yet)

This tube is just amazing. Far better temps than on my old machined unit from Jason and MUCH easier to mount. I get great contact every time without any hassles! Mousepot is the way to go!

Good luck with yours disposibleteen. You're going to love it. Dry ice is tons of fun.
