OCZ using TCCD Chips in all Platinum Memory except PC3200 Platinum (non Rev 2)

Well guys, we at OCZ have some good news.

OCZ has switched back to TCCD for all of the Platinum modules that have been TCCD in the past. The 3200 Platinum Rev 2 and PC4200 and PC4800 Platinum are now TCCD. Production switched late last week and should be hitting stores this week.

Our PC4800 Elite remains the best of the best, being binned at PC4800 2.5-4-4 and PC3200 2-2-2. At PC4800 speeds tighter timings are often seen. Of course this will vary from system to system and depends heavily on your CPU.

We at OCZ and no doubt many of you know that TCC5 = TCCD when properly tested prior to building modules. For those of you that only want TCCD for whatever reason, we have your memory.

    The revisions are: Rev 1.0 = TCCD. Rev 1.1 = TCC5.

This applies to only to 1gb kits and 512mb modules. TCCD cannot be used on 1gb modules used in 2gb kits.

Well real good news, but my bad luck... I have Rev 2 V1.1 = TCC5, which I got over a month back. It still goes 270 1:1 (2.5-3-3-8 VDIMM=2.8) and no I have not tried to push more. But I think it can go 280-285 with relaxed setting.

Guys, understand we are not offering free "upgrades" to TCCD. The TCCD may not run any better or faster than what you have. Also consider the costs involved in an RMA for perfectly good memory. We want to stay in business and are in the business of selling memory, not taking in your good used memory that can't be resold.

    Thanks for understanding.

I think Mr Slinky must have misunderstood....he probably thought this was a replacement program, not a reintroduction of a memory. Anyway, always good to hear that TCCD will be used--it's name is enough to sell it.

What week TCCD are we talking about Andy?

I was under the impression that the Elites were discontinued...

Are you meaning to imply that TCC5 can be used on 1GB modules? Or are you just re-stating that TCCx ICs aren't capable of 1GB modules for clarification purposes?

TCCx IC's are not of sufficient Density to be made into 1GB modules. Unless you wanted a double high, double wide module

My OCZ Platinum Rev 2's do 1:1 and 304 (608 mhz) --- (haven't tried higher) at 2.5-4-4-7-1t at 2.66V rev 1.1. . Note, this slack timing I just chose because I was pressed for time. I probably can get 2.5-4-3-6-1t just fine or somewhere in that area. Memtest86+ stable for hours.

    TCC5?

I honestly doubt prices will go up. The retail outlets don't much care what chips are on the memory. They only care about the cost. The marketing/sales types must be golfing today, cause I can't find them to ask.
