Kudos for identifying these pics:
Lots of people ask me where I get my inspiration, and it comes from a lot of directions--particularly interests in materials (plastic, metal, wood). But also from all kinds of other things. For example, in the museum pic above, I love the victorian style small window panes, I just may have to incorporate that into a mod someday.
Back to the modding...
I had just finished painting all my pieces, so its time to start assembly.
First I set up my 2 large side panels, and attached the wing shelves:
Next I added the cross boards and got this unit upright:
Got the table top on and various brackets:
Made sure the motherboard tray still fit and functioned:
Added the front doors:
And a little something somewhat hidden. I needed to fill in this portion of the dado cut on the underside of the table top (eventually I’m going to add edge trim to the table top), so I used some leftover trimmed plywood. I think edge cut plywood looks pretty neat when finished off nicely:
