    hmmm that sounds really dangerous (don't want to loose my data)

    but I've got some progress in meanwhile!!

    I've been trying some more stuff and at some point I tried my RAID controller without any HDs attached... and guess what:
    WEBBIOS STARTS!

    After that I re-attached all HDs, reloaded my BIOS settings and tried again
    WebBIOS still starts!

    Finally I reinstalled the new LSI firmware again and also their "the trick" works

    If any of you has an idea why the *$*$ WebBIOS won't start when my fully functional and healthy RAID5 is attached, then I'm all ears

    btw: Since those SATA HDs are hot pluggable, could I just open WebBIOS and then attach the HDs?
