I'm considering doing a small upgrade to my current rig and give it some more lifespan.
I'm considering passing from my Q9450 that tops at 3.44ghz to an extreme edition and try t push for 4ghz air (i have decent air cooling, thermalright ultra 120 with 2 scythe 120 fans pushing/sucking).

You'll tell me "we are playing with i7 and you are still there? Well my budget doesn't allow me to move to a higher platform. Currently I can find a Qx9650 at a fairly good price. Do you think it's worth looking for a QX9770 instead? Will the QX9650 give me the same results? (I understand I should aim for a SLAWN C1 stepping).
