What really amazes me is that I donīt have any problems on Vista to remove the old version and to install the new one in your link. As I do the very same on W 7 it wouldnīt work for some reason.

Not sure why it, or others, would fail on Win 7 though? Did you try XP/Vista modes, or run install as Admin?
I think I will be doing the same next time I remove mine. Using too much paste worked, but I don't like the idea.I just checked EK UD7 fullboard cooler and it didn't have good thermal contact with ICH10R, made spacer about fraction of mm thinner on all spacers and made full connection
I told Gregor about this, and suggested they need to adjust something either the screws or spacers.
How did you make yours thinner, just sand them down a bit?
