    doctor pepper's desk

    hi everyone,

    I'm back for a new build-log!
I do appologize right away for this is not a watercooled computer I wanna build, but the aircooling section doesn't have such a build-log section, and I feel more comfy over here
For those who don't remember, you can check out my cosmos s build here

As for now, I just graduated from MedSchool and I'm gonna start working in a three-doctor's office in France (which is where I live... kinda logical ). So I needed a desk!
... and this is where it all started!
(by the way, my name means pepper in german, so this is where the thread tittle comes from )

I looked around in different shops, and this is the one I like most. Well, it doesn't look that cool on this picture.
Anyway, this desk happens to have a quite original piece of furniture: it has 3 drawers on the front... and another space, closed by a door, on the other side!! Since I wanna use this in my office I don't need that part on the patients' side, do I???

Well I finally came out with the idea of building my computer using this space as a case... and let it be seen through a glass window!

My main ideas were to build something :

    - reliable (so air-cooled! )
    - very quite
    - powerfull and fast enough eventhough not a high-end PC
    - pretty

I chose a black and white color scheme starting from the motherboard.

Here are the parts I selected:
    = got it
    = ordered
    = not ordered yet

    THE CASE = THE DESK
    the glass door

PSU: Fractal Design Newton R2 650W with white sleeving from MDPC-X
    MB : EVGA P55 FTW
    CPU: Intel Core i5 650
    RAM: Corsair Dominator 2x2Gb DDR3 1600C8D
    GPU: XFX HD 4870 1024Mb
    SSD: 32 Gb Corsair X32
HDD: 320 Gb Samsung SpinPoint F1
DVD: Samsung Slimline external (will be "in" the first drawer)
    + Sharkoon Jump Start

    cooling parts:

    CPU: Prolimatech Mega Shadow
    GPU: Xigmatek Bifrost
HDD: Fractal Design SATA Cluster Box
    FANS: Fractal Design 2x120mm, 2x140mm and 1x92mm

    peripherals:

    LCD: Samsung P2450H
MOUSE & KEYBOARD: Microsoft Laser Desktop 7000
    SOUND: JBL Spyro Black
    PRINTER/SCANNER: Samsung SCX-4500w

for those who don't really see what they all look like, my "special"... just for you!

(of course the red vga cooler won't live long!)

Then I started working (just a very little bit) with google sketchup, and here's what I came up with for this project :

(the keyboard/mouse/screen are not the ones I got, but I couldn't find them in the sketchup image store... same thing for the graphic card)
