If you think any of the new ones coming out will be any different, think again. Just different looking characters and back grounds, fancy new spells all and that jazz. But in the end they are the same.

The end game in Aion is all about PvP and the grind to get there, just like all the others.

I am not sure how long I will be playing it, but so far its fun. It's just another online game to me.

Aion is just the new kid on the block atm
Uhh, not really. The basics are the same, yes, because thats the nature of the genre, but alot of games are very different from one another.

I have played EVE, WoW, DAoC, CoH, LOTRO, EQ1, EQ2, SWG, AoC, GW, PotBS, PotC, Second Life, and Vanguard.

The only one thats kept my attention for a long period of time is EQ2 (and EQ1 before that).

SWG managed to hold me for a good 8 or 9 months. Lets face it, its Star Wars. Thats a glowing recommendation right there.

EVE was unique but I couldn't get over the fact that there was no Avatar and flying was aggravating.

The others were all pretty much clones of each other, occasionally leaning toward PvP or toward PvE with nothing but the graphics to distinguish from each other.

Incidentally, I found LOTRO to be incredibly... annoying. Though I do have to say that their format for housing was actually my suggestion during beta, and I'm quite proud that they took it even if they didn't credit me with the idea. LOTRO just wasn't at all like the books in anything other than name, and the way the graphics look seemed primitive and wrong to me. It could have been so much better.
