Well you were just lucky that I saw your post. I bought a secondhanded E2160 and it had a VID of... hold your breath... 1.175V! That thing clocks like madness, on stock volts (I put 1.175v in the BIOS to get the same as the VID) it went up to 2800-2900MHz with 1.128v real. I put the volts up to 1.3 (1.248v real) and it went to about 3050MHz. I think I need to add more juice to get more, the heat doesn't hold it back. Now 53 degrees under full load, CPU_FAN @ 1200RPM.
I haven't changed anything about the mobo-volts or something else. Working with the Gigabyte P35DS3, bios F6.
Wow, 1.175v. I swallowed hard when I saw 1.215v.My brother's e2160's VID is 1.275v. I was going to swap the chips but it's almost impossible to remove the Tuniq Tower and replace it without removing the motherboard.
