Thanks for the suggestions, it's definitely the higher overclocks that are causing the S3 Standby issues. It's really annoying as I got my E4300 to about 3.4GHz 24hr Orthos stable.

I have found that 3.1GHz (345x9.0) seems to be the sweet spot for my setup and S3 Standby works perfectly in Vista. It's a great feature, can power on & off the PC to Windows in a few seconds and only consumes about the same wattage in standby as when the computer has been shutdown.
