I tired andresergios settings worked really well , i hit with everything and couldn't tell it was throttling power , but temp was much coolerSimple question: will enabling EIST + C settings make a computer slower when using it? What I mean is: when the computer needs more CPU power, is that power there instantly, or do we lose some because of e.g. the reaction time etc to give higher performance?
2600k have alot going for them![]()

thanks,
Trie prime95 26.4 from what i discovert is that it droops the vcore by 0.012 more then Linx does with avx. So thats why i think prime95 does a better job of stressing sandy.

Not sure, all I know is I have 4 x 2GB sticks (only need 4GB) but thought I'd give 8GB a go one day & found channel B booted/worked easy with 7.10.7 & channel A needed a little work. As I don’t need the 8GB I didn’t bother looking into it further but did run the day with 8GB 8.10.8 so at least 8GB runs.
One thing I have noticed since as a result of reading another thread (Dino post) was tfaw on auto appears to allow some settings to boot that manual wont. Or at least manual up to 32 wont post & run so easy, I can’t find any performance benefit lowering tfaw anyway so no problem leaving it auto.
Dont think its a UD7 problem as I'm on a UD5
If you work it out let me know please.

Good job got my fingers crossed that this extra gflops is not a flaw and that we see some actually performance on the front and just not in numbers . . cause as is windows 7 is pretty fast to me and my core doesnt need alot of voltage , out of all Id like to see a new media player update even though I use classicnice timings

Yeah! With 4GB (2GB in slot 2 and 2 more on slot 4) worked!
But I want to know... why can't with 8GB and 7-10-10-27? Where is the problem? UD7? BIOS? P67?
Thx!

Anyone having trouble with that ''4E'' boot failer error. Now and than i get this anoying error/bug and than i can't boot at the same seed withs runs fine before.
For example my cpu runs 4914mhz @ 1.356 prime stable for 5;30 hours.
Than when i got the 4E reading on the debug ledpost than it won't boot what so ever. Even at 4914mhz @ 1.44.
Then i reboot a few times, in some cases 2 and some times 4 and load my saved cmos file in the bios, and then with luck (because it dosent work every first time) i can boot at 1.356 @ 4914mhz again.
I don't get it exactly, it seems if my bios is possessed or something.

I think your failure to boot is something to do with PLL overvoltage.
I've never seen issues like that if PLL is disabled.
If you're bored, try a test.
Try 100x45, 1.3v. PLL disabled.
See if you can boot and change various settings like bclk 99.8 to 100.3, and a few random settings in the bios, like vcore 1.3-1.32, HT on/off, etc.
Works fine, right?
I even saw a failure to boot when I was at 100x40 and all I did was change PLL to enabled. (kept saying OC failure and powering off after POST). Took like three three tries for it to stick...
man its so difficult for me to enter bios settings i have a X6 MS keyb USB and when i hit DEL if she likes it she lets me in if not reboot loop or turn off and on then freezes, i just hate this thing

its just random, sometimes it boots without any trouble @ 4914 1.35 prime stable.
But sometimes i get a bootfailure ''due to overclocking'' and than the debug post is showing 4E and than it won't even boot at 4600 1.35 as before 4914mhz.
i have set my PLL at 1.8 manualy, so i dout it wil be that, just can't beleave it. Its like an old diesel some times it starts right up and a copple of times it just hangs on 4E error/bug, i also first thougt my cpu was already degrading, but its just and bug that occurs mostly when overclock fails.
edit: sometimes i can trigger it manualy.
- first boot into windows with a most high stable overclock
- than push the resset button wile in windows.
- as soon as you wil reboot again (and my gues is true) you won't be albe to boot at the same maximum stable frequentie as before.
@ andressergio
don't know i'm running through SVID (auto) the same settings i posted a page back of my 24/7 OC.

It's funny you guys talk about the reboot issues, I found a way around is reload bios default values reboot & go back into bios re-enter overclocking.
Works for me when the bios hangs...

I think everyones trying to aviod setting up the OC again. Otherwise you could just hit clear cmos and start over without the boot loops. For me its really not a loop like on the UD3P p45, that was endless, this has a pattern, normally you can look at post codes and see what its going to do. I get 4E and hangs, sometimes twice, next it makes it to 70 and restarts, then to 75 allowing me into the bio

I'm talking about the "PLL overvoltage" setting. This has nothing to do with the PLL voltage and doesn't affect the pll reading either. Sin measured it and the pll voltage measurement is unaffected by the CPU PLL Overvoltage setting. The cpu pll overvoltage setting allows higher multipliers to work, but causes strange OC failures, even at stock settings that would be fine with it disabled. But you need it enabled on some cpus to get high multipliers to work like 48+.

ive testted a few CPUs and one of them in particular needs to boot with a lot more vcore than it needs in windows to be stable so for example if it was a 1.35v prime stable chip id need it going into windows at 1.4
maybe try that on your system and see if your chips is like that
