lol this is crazy, on any other forum this thread would have been locked ages ago. People downloading pirated stuff, posting screenshots, posting benches.

so, following your thought, then talking about the pics of Duke Nukem Forever (which is not released yet) or post the videogameplay would be a crime and we would be pirates?

no one here is saying to download the leaked beta or anything like that, we're just discussing the potential and the expectations of CryEngine 3 and the graphics / story of Crysis 2

pirate is someone who download copyrighted material without permission, not who speaks of a game not yet released or who commented on the images / video preview

@ Razz i just mean internal as in, someone that has access legally to this build as like you said other vendors get it as well. Im not saying someone at crytek themselves let it out but someone that was sent a copy is also included. No random "pirate" came in and took it then released it.

lol i agree with everything he says and thats the reason that until today i couldn't stand playing GTA 4. tried tons of mods and everything.. end of last year i just tossed the dvd's on the trashcan without even reaching 1/3 of the game .
Rockstar and GTA4. F'em all with that crap

Haha, well I for one was prompted to go out and buy the game after seeing all the posts and watching the gameplay. I could download it (and I'd probs have it in about 5 minutes) but really I can't be bothered to beta test the game especially until my system is more up to the task. So where's 6990/GTX595 when we need them?!

All these goody two shoes who are going on about piracy are soo full of its not even funny, just let everyone do what they want to do and live your life. Not affecting you and it's DEFINITELY not affecting the developers. Most people see Crysis as a tech demo anyway and would never buy it. I pirated Crysis before my version arrived as I was tooo impatient to wait, and then when I got it I was able to play online and run with the disc.

Easy to deflect all blame to piracy when your games are .

just bought test drive unlimited 2 key from one of them for like half the price of normal and so far no problems.

might start buying from those sites instead of steam..

United States was founded on Piracy, we basically didn't follow any international patients when we started as a country.

The best thing to do is to offer more incentive for players to pay for the game.
Online Gameplay, Downloadable content, are just a few things that come to mind.

You can throw around your feelings on Piracy and how wrong it is.
At the end of the day it wont do anything.

sys_spec = (1 -5): 1 being lowest, 5 being highest.

Actually the 5 sets it in the xbox360 mode, and 6 in the ps3 mode.4 is the highest.

can it render something other than the menu, though? from what I hear, people who try to do DX11 will just see a black screen, or just most of the textures missing in-game, but menu works fine.

My screen is just black, only thing i see is the HUD and the Map. And i do hear sounds.

I am actually getting tired of people who don't know how to set up a system for the software their using and blame the devs for their foolishness.
Wow you clearly didn't mod the game for a more realistic environment,such as architecture and vehicles that alone enhanced the immersion for me.

i've been gaming on pcs since the 90's even a monkey can mod that game after spending an afternoon chosing mods to suit the textures/shaders/characters/vehicles/etc needs .. cry all you like even being a big fan of the whole series it just doesn't suit my standards for a new game. still waiting for GTA V but this time im not producing more garbage.. a simple shift+del will fix it if you get my meaning

My comment had nothing to do with "feelings", the morality of pirating software or methods to prevent it. I was simply pointing out the asinine justifications people come up with as excuses for piracy.

In the end, content is not a primary incentive for certain games. If you want to provide a self-contained single player experience then you need some sort of preventative mechanism. Shipping a shell of a game with most compelling content offered as micro-transaction DLC will kill your sales and it won't be due to piracy.
