My small Cosmos - LC by Tadzik

    COOLERMASTER COSMOS RC-1000 KSN-1

    Chapter One - Black&Red

I should start the thread as many people before " Please excuse my bad english 'cos I'm foreigner". I think that a language is only the case of communication, I understand you, you understand me well it's OK and enough.
I'v been workin' on my project for over one year. Wasn't new with LC, I'd had two ordynary things before with everything necessary inside but without great look. When I was searching the internet I staggered on Xtreme Systems and then realized that there has been whole world of wonderfull and exciting rigs. Why not build another one by myself? OK I'm always talking too much First, a few information about what were inside:

    - case: Coolermaster Cosmos RC-1000 KSN-1
    - psu: CoolerMaster 850 W
    - motherboard: Asus Maximus II Formula
    - cpu: Intel Q9550
    - graphic card: EVGA GTX 295
    - ram: OCZ Flex DDR2 2x2GB
    - hdd: 2 x Seagate Momentus 2,5" RAID 0
    - optical drive: DVD Pioneer

    - NB/SB/mosfet/cpu/graphic: EK acetal/copper
    - pump: Laing DDC 1T+
    - flow meter: Aquacomputer
    - monitoring: Aquaero Aquacomputer
    - radiators: 3 x Black Water Ultimate rev.3 2x120 mm
    - rez: EK
    - fans inside: 3 x Enermax Magma
    - fans outside: 6 x Scythe Slip Stream 800 rpm
    - fittings: BP silver
    - tubing: 10/16 Masterclear

Let you see it - Mark I (one year ago, not very great pics):

I'm stubborn and meticulous, I like perfection. My wife always tells me that I should have been born in Germany. It's only beging of my venture a few dozen of pictures eagerly waiting for publish. I have to find time to sort it out.

Another thing I find funny is AMD/Intel would snipe any of our Moms on a grocery run if it meant good quarterly results, and you are forever whining about what feser did?

The build quality is the first thing that I rate above all else when I see a modded case. The build quality of your case is top-spec. You sold your soul to the devil for the attention to detail that you put into your system.

    That was my thought

.........a few weeks ago - outside work in progress.

Radiator's housing Mark II now all round cuts have the same radius - 20 mm. I think that it looks better.

I was thinking about re-doing the top in the very similar way but couldn't find mesh panel dense enough. Found one in UK for 15 pounds with ... 15 pounds shipping. Bargain!

What's your patent for bending mesh panels this way (as in rad housing)?

In general i'm a big fan of "everything internal" cases and i've a mixed feelings about radiators enclosure. But the quality is top notch!

One year ago when I was looking for new case I stoped on CM Cosmos, still don't know for what reason I bought that one. Mayby because of unusual design. Finally when I'd got it I realised that it didn't fit LC purpose very well. 1100 is better 'cos you can put one big rad in front second smaller on top and that's all, efficiency should be enough to cool down I7 overclocked cpu, gpu and mobo blocks. I got what I'v got so firs thought which came to me was disassembling hdd cage but taking radiators outside has been the best solution.
I'm not sure if I undarstend you correctly radiotor cage mesh is't bent. There is five separate pieces cut to proper size pressed into holes first glued and then sealed with a grey silicon at the edges. I'm using flat file sharp end protected with a soft fabric to press the mesh in.

The top cover has't mesh but perforated aluminiu sheet powdered with black matt coat. Try here: http://www.onlinemetals.com/merchant.cfm?id=1003&step=2

3x120 + 2x120 internally. I would not say Cosmos is that bad for WC.

And as for radiator cage: I had an impression that separate mesh panels are not flat and are fitted to aluminium frame. This is what I meant:

I've seen your build before - very nice - but personaly I prefer something more puristic. Coming back to the point "I'm using flat file sharp end protected with a soft fabric to press the mesh in". It's hard to explain even in my nativ language. First you need a properly cut piece of aluminium mesh, you put the mesh from inside into the cage which lay down on a floor/table with something soft below (bathroom towel is the best). You stabilized the mesh ( hand or adhesive tape) and press it spot by spot along edge of the hole using a flat file ( the end of file should be protected with a soft fabric). You repeat it several times. Dont't know if it's clear.

Got it. I missed that part about flat file. Actually you could explain in your native language, but we should stick to English on XS
