This is becoming a PR disaster for them.

Some of these guys have had several bad replacements already which means that either Primochill don't test their products or that they don't know what's wrong with them and keep sending replacements hoping the problem will go away.

In any case not communicating with their customers is a very bad idea, and doing so in an open forum like XS would make a lot of sense and would reach quickly a lot of the watercooling community. Showing they care, not only to the unlucky people who bought that product but also to their future potential customers. I understand that it might not be a pleasant experience but it has to be done. In addition I find that the watercooling community is quite reasonable and patient at XS.
That has been the biggest problem with this. Brian hasn't even posted anything on his own site about the problems.

As I noticed, the fires seems to calm a bit when BoxGods came back on and started posting news. I can understand being a busy person. It seems Brian is trying to keep the company lean. Each time I have called for tech support, he answered the phone.

It would be nice if he could at least post a press release on his own site explaining what is happening. At least people can see something is happening instead of having to get news from outsiders.

I hope he gets things fixed for you guys. For those that are waiting, could always just go air cooling, or get a top for the D5 and an inexpensive res so at least you got a working rig till everything gets sorted out.

    That's what I've done.
A simple res with built on pump to do until this is sorted.
Hopefully the T3 comes out of this situation with it's problems fixed.

I don't know how big Primochill is and whether this fiasco could threaten them financially, but what I don't understand is why they're still selling this product. Clearly something's wrong and they should at least temporarily withdraw this product until they find a real solution. Otherwise the situation is going to become worse and worse for them. What would happen if someone sues them for selling a product that they knew had a major flow that could potentially destroy thousands of dollars worth of equipment?

And Brian should issue a statement, if only to say that he's working on a solution, that customers should not use the Typhoon III until further notice and that he'll update his customers as new developments arise. It would calm down people and in any case it is the right thing to do.

Actually, they can't be sued for damage to any hardware: http://www.primochill.com/terms-and-conditions.html.

So I believe the only legal reason they can be sued is for knowingly selling a faulty product, but I have a feeling that will be very hard to prove.

The TIII problems are all over the internet so it won't be so hard to prove. I am not suggesting that anyone should sue them especially over a USD 65 piece of equipment, they just open themselves to unnecessary trouble and their attitude is not professional. At the very least they have damaged their reputation and rebuilding a company's image is neither easy nor quick.

Which means primochill is lucky that prisoners can't build clear computers (i think, they can have clear tvs though...). I'm sure one of the would sue. They tend to sue anyone they can practically just out of boredom.

Guys (this especially includes you to Geno ), From all the info I have available to me, this is not the first time he has had "poor business practices", so it should not really come as any surprise. He was the owner of voyeurmods.com which got such a crappy name for poor business practices that it basically had to go OOB and re-formed as Moddersmart. Just read the warning in the Online store sticky

    http://www.xtremesystems.org/forums/...ad.php?t=67179

Those 2 were/are the main retail storefronts for Primochill and they also sell other non Primochill goods. I wish I could link resellerratings but they've removed voyeurmods from their listings. BBB also had some complaints on them but they too have been removed due to the company being OOB.

From what I can tell, for the most part, it's a 2-3 person operation.

Agreed. You call and get a lady, and then she transfers you back to Brian.

He might have a couple of guys working in the warehouse, but over all I doubt PrimoChill has more than 10 people directly employed.

He seemed helpful enough when I got him on the phone and that wasn't hard to do either.

Brian emailed me 2 weeks ago to say that a newer final revision of the T3 was due last week and it would be posted Wednesday, Thursday at the latest.
I've emailed him but no reply and no T3.
I think Brian is trying to get a working T3 to market but he sticks his head in the sand until he has something to show.
I wish he would just tell me something, honest or not.
At least tell me something Brian as I am sure he is reading this thread, that's for sure.
Also Geno any word if you're taking the delrin version to a different company although Brian keeping the mold must complicate things.

There really isnt a mold for derlin like there is for acrylic. Derlin gets alot of CNC work. This is one of the reasons a derlin T3 will cost much more than the acrylic.

    Barso,

I had to drain my loop again. I finally called Primochill and Brian answered the phone himself. On my newest T3 replacement I have a stripped thread (someone got lazy on the way out) and a hairline crack which has formed from pump screw to far inlet port.

I was told that a rev A would be out this Wednesday and that I should receive it soon after. I love the idea of the T3 still, but I hate this thread and I hate beta testing at my expense. Maybe they'll get it worked out. I would like a refund if this one doesn't go. If there was something else available that I couldn't do without I would've already demanded one.

My understanding is that Geno is no longer doing post-processing and they've changed the mixture again. I think that I heard that there is already a rev B in the works as rev A ships. Whatever...

There is no delrin/acetal version. Only pictures and promises. (There are unicorns, delrin T3s, and T3 PECs that don't leak)

What a mess... 1411 posts of suck.
    upgrading...

Yea, I jumped ship myself. I really liked the overall design of the T3, but I just don't want to have to worry about a leak. I decided to make the move to DDCs and an EK top and res.

If you are getting tired of it, I would just jump ship too. There are other options out there, so no since in beating a dead horse.

I have installed a XSPC 750 res and pump that cost a quarter of the T3 setup I own.
I am only running the CPU block off it and put my GTX295 back on air.
    How do I get a refund on my D5 variable, black faceplate and 2 T3 res's ?
Not as easy for some of us.
My current build is based around the T3.
I really hope the next revision is better but I don't knowhow he can get rid of the cracking around the screw holes at the pump bracket without a total revision.
Hopefully Brian has found an answere.

I could write a mini-novel on what I have heard. The story really is quite colorful and full of intrigue and drama. Geno and I have gone back and forth over this for years since my people (Danger Den) and his former people (Primochill) were two of the opposed parties. The fact that Geno and I became friends despite this is suprising. Well, the guys at Danger Den have the highest level of integrity. I hope I gain some of their street smarts and judgement through osmosis.

Well DB, it didn't seem to work with books back in the day, but you could always try shoving one of them under your pillow when you sleep. Not sure how they would react to that though.

Since we are sending this email out to a few people we would like you to simply respond with confirmation that you received this email. We would also appreciate that you send us your most current mailing address, so our records are correct and we can process your RMA quickly.

I have just receive an email from primochill, informing me that a new 'version A' product is due to be shipped Wednesday (US time), Thursday (my time) and that primochill are confident that this version will fix the issues.

So things are looking up for customers with faulty T3's, I just hope this will now be a reliable product for my sake and for the bennefit of primochill.

Edit: Tooo slow typing in at work

I would probably do the tubing, but it depended on whether or not the faceplate matched the case.

Now, I hope this is truly the fix for these because I really liked the idea and concept. My only concern is that the replacements will not have a top port, so I am not sure how I will make this work in my case if I do decide to use it. What I will do is setup a dummy loop with the screws inserted and run it for a about a week to see if it leaks or not before putting it to use.

Yay! I got that e-mail as well. Definitely going with the faceplate here. It's something that I like the idea of, but would never feel right spending money on. Plus I still have an 8 foot section of tubing in a drawer... but lets hope they went all out on this. They switched to an American manufacturer that, hopefully, will do a better job at mixing for the plastics. And maybe they will anneal it after the tapping too.
