    Thanks guys.

No difference. I was hoping they'd be a little bit thicker but as you can see from the pics, they aren't.

I've made progress assembling the parts onto the board. Will post soon.

I'm trying to figure out how to route all the tubing at the moment.

So installing the mobo blocks took me most of Saturday. I definitely didn't plan on that!

Excuse the oranginess (sp?) on the next couple of pics. I'll come back later and fix the exposure!

Opened it up to see the greased caked on and hard!

This one took me the longest.

But I think I did a pretty good job!

    Putting on the thermal pads.

Lining up the block which also took quite some time.

I was curious to look at what the inside of the block looked like and to my surprise, there was oil all over the place! I opened up all the blocks and found contamination.

I am so glad I got a chance to clean it out before I ran water through it!

Here's what I've already started for today.

I'm hoping to get all the tubing installed and mounted and then get the radiator installed.

Thanks, that is my goal Liderc... Lucky for me that that was the toughest one to get without introducing a kink.

    My progress today:

Prepping the fans for a paint job.

Masked the fans and was ready to go outside to paint but it was misty and 50 degrees out... A bit too cold and wet to do a proper paint job. Oh well, I'll do it later this week.

Reservoir location may change after I get the rad and mobo installed but this is a good location for now.

Started the sleeving and had some fun taking these pics.

Love it dude, nice work and the color scheme is excellent. Seems we will be doing both an i7 and Cosair WC build, such a killer combo.

Thanks! 800D is a popular choice these days but Corsair really hit a home run with their first case. It begs for a watercooling setup.

Thanks guys. I'm glad MDPC carries these two blues. I think they go really well together.

Excellent work there HazChem, thanks for adding the extra photo's of your sleeving to the sleeving guide.
After all, the end of the sleeving really is the business end of the deal, you either nail it or it all falls apart right there.

Personally, I feel you have nailed! it.

Well done mate its all coming together nicely.

Awesome job on the Freezer block on the RIIE! (Did a little De Ja Vue-ing)
Did you manage to mount the ROG chip back on board?

Still trying to find a slick way to mount mine.

Your sleeving came out looking swa-eeet! Grand Bleu and Aquamarine goes so well together.

EDIT: I see the ROG chip. Looks to be sitting on top of the POM part of the Freezer. Got more pics?

Took a day off yesterday and made a little bit of progress.

I got the fans and the block painted. The weather didn't cooperate so a one day job took me all week...

Putting the fans back together was a PITA! The stupid little c-clips didn't want to go back on. Grrr...

The screws I bought to mount the rad and fans to the top of the case were too long. Being lazy and not wanting to go back to HD to buy shorter screws, I did the next best thing. Kudos to whoever invented the Dremel.

    Moments later...

    Remounted the reservoir.

A closeup of the ROG mounted on the waterblock. I mounted it using the original sticky thermal pad that was on the ROG block. Very convenient and works!

Glad the fans turned out well.

Can you give more info on taking apart and reassembling the fans? Also, how to they perform and sound with the coat of paint on the blades?

I'm trying to decide between GTs painted black of S-Flexes at the moment. The SFLEXes perform better at lower RPMs, but the GTs perform better at higher RPMs (I factor sound and air-movement heavily).

Darn, you noticed! My fingers are sore from all the sleeving I did on the power supply that I am going let them heal up before I finish the rest of them... I know, wimp...

Also, I almost used up the sleeves so I have to order more to get all the cables done...

I followed this thread. I didn't get to listen to them at full speed before I painted them so I can't compare but they sounded pretty quiet after the paint job.

I went with the GTs because of their high static pressure and excellent performance up to 1800 RPM. I wanted the headroom for when the system got going. They are perfect for the rad.

Yesterday, I put everything together to leak test it by connecting pump to an isolated power source and so far nothing leaked after a couple of hours!! Woohoo!!

So I connected everything up in preparation for final cable routing and then hit the power button and...

    I got nothing!!! Grrr!!!!

No beeps, nothing!! Mobo won't post. What happens is that when I switch on the power supply, the ROG and all the mobo buttons light up. But when I press the Start button on the mobo, it turns on for a brief 1/2 second and then it all shuts down. I've spent hours trying to figure it out. Apparently it happens when there is a short or something. It worked just fine prior to the project so I don't know what could have happened. Hmph.

I thought "oh crap" I messed up the power supply. But it isn't that since I connected it up to a another pc and it works fine.

    This sucks @$$!!

Project on hold but this will give me time to order more sleeving and enjoy Christmas!!

If you have any ideas before I RMA it, I'd be happy to hear it... I'll give Asus a call and try to RMA it.
