Here's a few more I figured I'd post before they went forgotten.

The nickel coating on the pump coverings was what I would call frail to say the least... so I had all of them powder coated as well. (I should mention their are no post processing lighting effects going on in these photos or in the last batch I posted.... only lighting effects were from ... the lights).

Since I don't think anyone would notice otherwise... the fins too were powder coated the same color as the grills, etc.

Yeah I like how that looks too. Hopefully when all is said and done the white fans will provide the lacking contrast on the front grills as they currently exist.

Well not quite yet. I actually have to first replace every last nut with the ones I ordered, drill a few holes here and there, and some other fun stuff.

I have been looking to getting a MM Ascension case, but I am unsure how my Thermal Take 1200watt power supply will be mounted and supported. I also am looking at getting the Horizontal back plate. I really love what you have going on so far, looks sweet.

Hi all, it's been a bit, and I'm posting to ask a question (apologies)... I've been working on the build A LOT, it's just that, for the most part, my next big bout of Images will be the grand grand finale where everything is finished (perhaps besides the final side panel design)! With that said, their are some opinions I would like to gather from community regarding side panel design on the MM Ascension... so over the next couple (days or more) until I finish, I'm going to post some panel designs I've come up with because I would really appreciate user feedback. I'll start with the very simplest of design, what you think?:

indeed, didn't bust out the xrite, but with that big tungsten bulb overhead, things was a bit on the yellow side.

Yargh, indeed. The bitspower pump coverings "nickel plating" is a joke. They had to be powdercoated to withstand... well the lightest of nicks.

Do it! Buy it! Mod it! And make the thermaltake 1200 watters fit however you like... maybe within an MM Ascension induced singularity... It's nearly massive enough. I'm using two silverstone strider 1200 watters personally and may end up getting a third real soon ... lots of lights + pumps + fans + insanity may require quite a bit more than I first anticipated. It depends on how I finish modding the 40 odd Enermax clusters and other areas with channel controlled PWM RGB LEDs/UV LEDs/and diffused fiber optics (see mouser... good stuff for the new style "fractured fiber ribbon lights"... expensive though.

Continuing appreciation for your support and I suppose you above all others might have interest in the panel designs I upload (especially when it comes to things like practicality (an area I lack in).

She's getting groomed nice. :-) Though her pampering has turned her into one heavy mother. I'm playing with pneumatic legs for the feet so I can crank her up securely to desired heights, as well as electronic pneumatic ferrari door opening style side panels... I ripped the pneumatic arms out of my Explorer (from the back window thinking they would work as jaws for between the pedestal and the top (NO WAY)... they seem to work well for panels, but I'm gonna need electric control of the valve... it's okay though, I never go anywhere anyway, besides bi-annual migration I guess.

I'm completely awestruck by this case. There are simply no words. The amount of custom parts in this case, that you are customizing even more is amazing. I don't think the system you are putting in this case is worthy, because nobody makes parts that are awesome enough yet. I would love to see how you can work a cascade into this along with everything else. It would seem the case deserves some form of xtreme cooling ( no pressure ).

Somebody pinch me, did he say that something was expensive? " Fractured fiber ribbon lights ". They did look pretty cool. If you could you hook one end to a servo that would twist it into a "rope" then unwind it open ( like in the video ) then closed again across the window in the side panel that would be absolutely epic. Can we get some sharks with friggin laserbeams attached to their heads, LOL.

All I can say is fabulous ( as in shouldn't exist ) and I'm eagerly awaiting more pictures

Thanks for the props cobra. I guess "great" perhaps (nutty) minds think alike, for my light box which sends lights out trhough the fiber is currently mounted to a servo and will in the end be on a small stepper motor for greater resolution (more light options ... and yeah, honestly that Amphenol company gets away with murder: I mean I had to pay $557.76 for a 50 foot spool of 22 strand xpandolite! ... so definetly expensive for what it is... probably due to crummy patent situation..

    Anyhow, thx for your post.

    panel dimensions: 24"x24"

You'll have more than a few days bro, I think I just made a purchase decision out of impulse that will in the end give this thing the height of a regrigerator... more on this later on tonight and MOST IMPORTANTLY TO KNOW FOR EVERYONE, I'm not changing any of the original parts that I've mentioned and shown so far with new and upgraded components .... I'll post the finale of this build as expected soon and give a clue of what else is comming to dinner with it later on.

Thank's Xion! I'm aware that I've been hanging low lately (I have my reasons) but because of that I'm posting a "pick-me-up" to accomplish a number of things.

    1) This is by no means a dead build and I am working on it more regularly that not (even if that simply implies lots and lots of thought).

    2) This is by no means a never ending build (as in upgrading and upgrading and upgrading for the sake of it). Though I feel I have ran into some conditions that are making me upgrade some components.

    3) I want to publicly thank Nils (dualbrain) for being a genuinely honest and generous person. His sleeving is an art form in aesthetics and function. My great appreciation and continued loyalty go to him and his enlightening pursuit of business+pleasure via mdpc/mdpc-x/etc.

Oh, also if it wasn't for Nils constantly encouraging notes I wouldn't have the ability to stop playing video games. It would simply be impossible: due to my now well hidden new toys.

There's more where this came from... Though I'll be buying more soon Nils... I've used nearly all my white just on fan cables and on top of that I'm considering redoing most of my fan sleeve to a different color (... I really, really, really like the gray Working with Nil's sleeving is something I have been doing A LOT of most enjoyably at other times and tediously namely due to a lack of planning. Lesson learned however... or so I hope.

The difficulties I"ve ran into are NOT sleeve related but simple ... err ... complicated logistical issues regarding the original design plan of my build. Complicated in respect to how one practically and astheticly implements (at least 8, goal of 10 MASSIVE radiators into an MM extended + pedestal + all the bells and whistles that go along with them.

So a few details: A) I am now 100% positive one of my GTX 285s is dead, dead, dead! This means time for new video cards... They were getting a little slow anyhow. This also means time for a new motherboard: Likely the EVGA x58 Classified 4-Way SLI board (using ATI 5xxx GPUs) OR my P6T7 which SHOULD SOON have its own water cooling solution courtesy of Duniek.

    B) Next, the laws of physics not allowing me to fit my top mounted radiators and graphics cards in the same space/time coordinate simultaneously! So the most recent "task" I've done is disassemble this build almost entirely down to parts (still working on that) and I'm going to build it back up again but this time with an entirely different back panel which will need to support 10 expansion slots out the back and also I'm going to have some serious power supply repositioning (as in: they won't be going into the top case at all, but instead the bottom pedestal, with a beautiful (or that is the intent) waterfall of sleeve flowing down into the bottom... Oh yeah, and upgrading to dual Enermax (whatever is the most powerful version now) simply because I like them a lot more than my silverstone PSUs.

And I can't resist: One last glamor shot of the most unused sleeve I ever had at once... I truly feel the need to stock up as much as I can so that way when I'm living in my bomb shelter I can still do sleeve mods until the fallout goes away.

Ooops... how did this get here. It doesn't matter, for a quick death and rebirth is the only way I can continue. I pondered for days the matter of simply scrapping three of the 480 rads... But, I've decided NEVER SURRENDER! ... especially not to inanimate objects of my own pseudo-creation (or assembly).. especially in the grand scheme of things.

More posts coming soon.... as soon as soon may be/is possible.

Great to see you back, Xaxis. I was worried about you!

Glad to hear you're deep in the project. But, don't ya know, we wouldn't mind seeing a sleeved fan once in a while just to know you're still kickin'.

And, I hear ya on Nils. i ordered some bits and pieces from him today ... had a response and a shipment notice (and a little note ) within 10 minutes.

Great to see a post from you, Xaxis! Been a follower since the beginning and have been a fan of your no compromise, take no prisoners, eat 'em and smile, full-throttle extreme approach to your build.

I had high hopes for this build and you've surpassed that on page 3.
