My god, that's something else. Charles, that packaging is *nearly* as impressive as the product itself!

    wow. That was just awesome.

I really like the buildup now and can't wait to see it in frankfurt. You know - my best friend lives in frankfurt , I might have to email daniel so I can see this awesomeness in person next time I'm there.

You're lucky it's not going to Sweden, it would arrive upside down and the and the guys at the postoffice would ask you to come and collect 30'000 wooden bits and a shock-sticker.

That would be all thats left if it went via a place called Jönköping.

Hehe I need to make one of them too Charles, to transport my case to the other side of Australia when I move! Care to send some specs for the sizes to me (email). Might be able to make one up for myself...

    Word..

working as post distribution driver in Oslo, Norway, and i have seen it all!

at Cargo center OSLO, they throw packages, and just turn the pack containers upside down when sorting them out..

I don't think it's any better here in Germany. That's why we've gone to all the trouble with the specialized company, the special crate, Zen Frog and all that.

Daniel, congrats again on your new system. You are the man to envy!

Charles, after I finished drooling over the final pics I thought...how is he ever going to get that masterpiece to Germany? I'm really glad to see you figured it out. I don't think it could be more secure in that crate.

I recommended to Charles to add bricks to the pack so that they simply can't flip it

How long will it take to get to Daniel, roughly?

I have visited the airport in Frankfurt today. They are expecting the delivery and their staff is already preparing themselves. A couple of shots:

... I think they are ready:

It's on the plane right now, so couple of days at most, mainly because of customs. Should be in my hands on Tuesday.

    Funny stuff Nils .

Aged 5 years in the last 48 hours :P.

After much swearing, sweating and high blood pressure, I has the box! Received it this morning and partially unpacked it to make sure everything is ok, so Charles can get some sleep tonight .

Final unpacking and pics a bit later when I come back from work.

Hehe, that sounds worse than it actually was. I was so pumped and excited in the morning that I probably would have done something stupid while going inside the box.

Being away for a few hours gave me time to relax and cool down.

    Few hours left...

Very very tired and very very happy. Need sleep...

First of all, please ignore my poor photo skills. I won't be able to do justice to this work of art, so have mercy on me .

    Ok, here we go:

    Unpacking...

yeah, yeah, there's a little wooden kitchen, where I cook my little wooden food...

lotsa lo-tack paper all around, to protect from scratches.

    working on the paper...

I love this little guy, but where are his new buddies?!

    ah, there they are!

time to go inside, but not without the proper equipment...

    ... that's better!

    lotsa foam to remove...

just staring at the marvelous cable managing

my living room has been murderBoxed!

foamy innards, still lots of work to do...

    and done!

damn gang is everywhere! Don't you guys have anything to do?!

    ok, they've installed the PSU.

my back hurts but the desk is now loaded! Time to power everything up...

    ... and success!

and my modest attempt at a night shot.

Hope you liked it, lots of work remains to be done on the software side now, but otherwise I think this worklog is coming to an end...

It's hard to describe the emotions of powering the thing up for the first time, turning on the light panel, then the SSD mount lights, it wass just... magic!

    So Charles... respect!

brain shutting down... must sleep... now...

    D.

P.S. My router/provider are acting up again, so if pics won't load, keep trying, the connection is on and off.

Fantastic stuff Daniel - it must feel awesome to finally have this piece of art on your desk so you can marvel at its beauty in person rather than the pics!!

Glad to hear that it turned up with no hassles and that everything was in order! Must be the power of the ZEN frog.

    Congrats again and enjoy

Well, now I can finally exhale…

I’m so relieved that the machine is finally safe in its new home. It’s been an awesome journey these past months – Daniel, I thank you for your faith in me and I’m so pleased to hear you’re happy with your murderbox. Without question, a big part of me is in that machine and I will have a hard time letting go, but I know she’s in good hands and will hopefully be enjoyed for years to come.

Daniel, I thank you for the opportunity to create this machine and also for bringing out the best in me. While you enjoy your machine, I hope you sometimes reflect on the process and recall the guy in Canada with the silly little green ceramic frog (I need that back btw) and remember that despite being so far apart geographically, we came together to create something special. I will never forget this experience and feel stronger for having gone through it.

Metric is working on some wallpapers for anyone who may be interested and will post them here when they’re done. I will be working on new projects and of course dreaming of blending shapes, light, and color – and all the while smiling.

    Cheers All.
