you todaly remided me about the time that i had water cooling for the last week, well pipes ware not so big so they would get cloght out and no liquid could go trugh so i used my very own OLD pneutomatic air plaine pump to unclught it.
lesson NEVER USE H2O as coolent.
i wish i had a picture![]()
im currently making a ghetto tech bench out of the guts of this.
so far ive got the guts out of it
then im making a wood platform with a space in it for the hd's, dvd drives, psu etc.
all of these all hilarious !![]()
This isn't as hardcore ghetto as most but thought i would share, i think its fairly common for the board i did it too even though it ended up with the mosfets STILL frying, o well.
Did this to a BIOSTAR TFORCE TA790GX, for some reason it doesn't come with any heat sink stock on the mosfets.. I dont have any pictures of the board and heat sink together but i found the heat sink and took a few pics, and ill add a few of the burnt board as wellStupid quad cores and crappy pwm designs..or should i say cheap. This was just a cut up amd heatsink that came with my old athlon 3200+, took quite a while to cut through the thing with an old dull hacksaw blade

Wow, i thought that I was ghetto. But when i see all of this i don't feel as ghetto as i did before. Nice wicked things, keep up the modding!
The mobo box media center has me beat, but mine's ghetto notheless!
You can see my thread for it at EVGA forums here: http://www.evga.com/forums/tm.asp?m=647448
I went the upright route because...well....idk why. I guess I don't really have a place to put a desktop type case. It may kinda turn into a Lanbox also because my P180 is ato move. My TV is only 1024x768 so I can play Crysis on High with no AA, NFS: Undercover maxed with 4xAA, and Assassin's Creed maxed.I tried COD5 but it has no support for controllers and I've been using my Logitech Chillstream. I'm gonna get Worms World Party installed and I have a NES Emulator that I need to get up and running.
That works out well then. I've played some playstation 1, SNES and NES on mine, worth it to have a media center pc (or HTPC, whatever). I don't have cable so I watch streaming shows on it too.
I have a P180 as well, and yeah, it's a pain (scratches really easily too..)
My First Res
I used a junction box to submerge a danner pump... I created the fill port from a soda bottle

Here's mine. It is silent aside from the damn board squealing. Pretty much everything I can cool with water is cooled with water. SB, CPU, NB, PWM and GPU. I got tired of having fans and a pump buzzing away.
Notice the Ethernet drop I put in and how my SPDIF connects to the same plate with BNC and travels through the floor to the receiver on the other side of the room .
And let's not forget how the HDD's hang from bicycle tire tubes.

nice one

I hacked apart an old Antec PSU, cut the 24 pin connector into an 8 pin connector, and taped the wires up with scotch tape to ghetto rig my computer into working while I was waiting for an 8 pin extender. I'll get pics up when I get home in the next couple days.
Closest things I've got ATM are pics of my old suicide run setup:
The makings of a bong cooler for my E6300:
And my cooling device for my Macbook's power brick during the summer:
