using v2.1, standard stress level with threads set to auto it will successfully complete any amount of runs I set it too. If I switch stress level to maximum and leave threads to auto (Haven't tried any other) I hit start and then immediately after it says it completed successfully, no matter how many runs I have it set to.

Do you have a 32-bit or 64-bit OS?

Could you try placing the IntelBurnTest folder on C:\ instead of C:\dir\dir\dir?

    1. You're missing .NET Framework 2.0 and/or Visual C++ 2008 Runtime.
    2. You need to put the EXE along side the LinData folder.

Also how much does this test the stability of my RAM?? Is it still best to memtest or prime to check the memory?

    Thanks great tool

Auto is good for everything except Core i7. And for memory, I would use Memtest for windows (4 instances).

Moving it from C:\Temp to C:\ does indeed let it work in Maximum stress mode.

    Thanks agentGOD

I have installed Vista 64 on another partition so am using IBT with that rather than XP

By using Vista..would that highlight any RAM issues better than XP. Would you recommend still using memtest with RAM stability even while testing with vista or if I can get 10 clear passes in Vista I should be ok??

Most likely your motherboard BIOS has a set shutdown temperature for CPU. You can set the limit higher or disable it.

    Updated IntelBurnTest to v2.2!
    - Now outputs result of test (success, failure, etc) in log
    - Now outputs stress level tested in log
    - Added "high", and "very high" stress levels
    - Fixed a small bug that could've broken logging
    - Added debug logging for troubleshooting (right-click logging checkbox)

As said in the readme, if you have any issues, please help me find the cause by enabling the debug logger (added in v2.2), and then sending me the log file, as well as a screenshot of the issue.

Thanks to all for your support!

the fire thingy that animates ( freeze test) sometimes stops moving if you open a window and drag it on top so it covers the flame. To get it moving again I have to drag the IBT window "off screen" and then back on. Seems to just be a visual bug, the benching never gets affected, but since it looks like a freeze, not sure if this can be fixed. I have an nvidia 9600gt video card, latest drivers as of 6-20-09 and running vista x64 sp2 not sure if any of that matters.......

If you have a Nehalem CPU with HyperThreading enabled, you need to manually set the threads to 16.

Love this program!, I remember using the old version back then and it totally owned my OC. Gets the results quick so you can move on to your next OC ^^.
