LMK if you need more infos
Is that at stock speed? If not, please try stock. And that "64 MB" thing was just for experimenting... for regular testing, just use Standard or Maximum.

I will not pretend to know why :p but 16 threads fixed it, it would error out right out the door with 8 threads. all 8 threads maxed right now and no issue in 64bit mode.
was passing linx without issues in 64 bit with any problem size in linx so I was starting to wonder....

3.8ghz 19x200 HT ON 1.2vcore bios set (1.158 cpuz) 1.2qpi and 1.1 IOH 1.64 vdimm 7-7-7-24 1T is now IBT stable as linx stable

    THANKS !

The 8 thread + 64 MB thing was an experiment... so could you try it again with everything at stock? If it works at stock.... then it just means this is a new, faster way to test stability

    So 8 threads + 64 MB test size @ stock = fail?

What about 8 threads + Standard test size?

8 threads with beta failed 64mb, and maximum mem with both stock CPU or overclocked CPU. edit sorry 8 threads on standard does work. 128mb seems to be working fine on 8 threads also.

    i7 stock 64mb ram 8 threads = fail
i7 stock standard ram 8 threads = pass
i7 stock maximum ram 8 threads = fail
    i7 stock 128 mb ram 8 threads = pass
i7 stock tried all above 16 threads = pass
i7 OC same results as above
9450 quad stock same as above except failed on standard also
    9450 OC same as above
tested 2 other i7's same results as first i7
    Hope this makes it clearer.

Yes it does, thank you again for your contribution

Looks like the new Linpack binary (created by Intel in April 2009) doesn't like certain test size combinations with 8 threads.

So the conclusion is: 16 threads for single Core i7 w/ HT, 32 threads for dual Nehalem servers, and "Auto" for everything else, yields the most accurate results

    Ah ok,
Because i get failure with 8 threads every time, at more than standard.
Before i was Testing with 2x 2.0 to get 100% load and every test was fine.

Yea, strange that the latest official Intel binaries do not like certain sizes with 8 threads.

Try installing Microsoft(R) Visual C++ 2008 Runtime and Microsoft(R) .NET Framework v2.0 (minimum) as what is stated on the read me. I ran into the same problems before.

Do you have the LinData folder next to the IntelBurnTestV2.exe?

guys, I'm a little confused here, how many threads and what settings do I test an i7 setup? Should I disable ht before testing? Things were so easy with my e8400 = )

16 threads, at LEAST 5 times to run. And choose either Standard or Maximum for Stress Level. Standard for a quicker test, Maximum for a more in-depth test (more heat too, obviously).

    Hello.

I got a weird problem with the program. The program version i'm currently using is 2.1. So, here's the situation: no matter what options i choose for number of test, threads or memory amount, as soon as i click the 'start' button i get the message that i have passed the test successfully. For example, i choose 100 tests, 2 threads and 2000mb or ram, the moment i hit 'start' i get 'Success! Your system has been able to maintain stability...'. And that's everytime, no matter the chosen settings. I'm using vista ultimate 64bit.

What do you mean by "not working"? Any error messages, etc.? If so, screenshot please.
