    Nehalem EP Tested

or a long time, dual processor systems intrigued many high-end desktop users: adding the second CPU propelled your personal PC into the "parallel processing" exotic workstation and HPC [High Performance Computing] realm, without jumping into the overly complex and expensive quad-socket and larger systems. And, two-socket systems can for the most part still fit within the usual high-end PC size and power envelope.

Don't be so negative. The guy is posting what he's allowed to and even then he added some info to the pot.
That "Force DDR3-1600" line was interesting.
Also that regular DDR3 would work.
I bought 6 gigs of DDR3-1333 ECC and then returned it when I saw the manual for the board said DDR3-1333 ECC Registered and 6 gigs of that cost me $304.00
Now if the"Force DDR3-1600" will work with my memory I'll be a happy camper..

Nice! We can watch :banana::banana::banana: then, while people like you can have the real thing meanwhile.

O'rly? Since it is just a machine and because I'm so generous I would swap two of mine machines with your one.

A lot of coincidences happened together to make this possible..
    The board is $600.00+
    The cpu's are $3200.00+
    The memory is $304.00,
HS were $150.00 plus all the other parts.
Trust me, a lot of luck and persistance to make this possible.

Well, honestly except for the "Force DDR3-1600" line, nothing at all is new. We've known for a while that non-ECC DDR3 was supported.

The issue is Intel has March 30 as the day the NDA's lift and no benchmarks till then.
That leaves the people with access two choices:
wait till the 30th or say FU to Intel and post.
I have no signed NDA's but there is the factor of courtesy and honor.
A lot of people from Intel come to this site and share info with us to the extent that they are allowed to.
This helps us all. To me, to post benchmarks prior to the end of the NDA would be like spitting in those peoples faces.
Now pictures are a different story and here's a decent pic of the SM X8DA3 board.. The only difference between this(mine) and the one in that article is that mine has a onboard SAS controller.'

is the fastest thing available (until Nehalem-EX comes along), and
it is waaaaaay out of my league )
