D-Tek Fuzion v2 with Quad Core Insert, which was does it go?

Does it matter how the quad core insert is installed with the Phenom 940 in this waterblock? I've looked all over the internet trying to find an answer and haven't found anything. I got all of my new parts yesterday and I'm trying to get it up and running, but I want to make sure I have that installed correctly. Does it matter how you put it in? As soon as I find that out I won't be far from firing up my new system.

    Thanks.

The Quad Core Insert is meant for dual die processors (Intel processors). And even then, the usefulness of the insert is debatable.

Yeah I've read that it's mainly for certain Intel's and that it doesn't necessarily cool better. Too bad I didn't read that until after I bought it. Oh well, I'm not out too much for it.

    Thanks for the quick reply.

Yeah I bought it too but from all tests it looks like you are better off without it 99.999% of the time. At least it was cheap.

Yeah I'm not gonna use it.

Hey I just thought of another question for you guys. Does it matter how that block is situated over that processor? I read on a couple sites that barb location affects temps. Do you guys know anything about that? I was going to mount it so that the outlet barb was as far away from my reservoir as it can be so that I have less of a bend in my tubing. I know it's not gonna make that much difference no matter where I end up putting it as far as the bend goes, but it will help a little since my reservoir is so close to the waterblock.

Wise move they do nothing for temps whatsoever and probably reduce flow rates slightly

    Thanks for the help.

What about the block mounting position? Does it matter how it's installed on there?

Oh hey I keep forgetting to ask you guys this too.

Do you think I should remove that stock passive heatsink off of the chipset and use an aftermarket cooler? I have one of those tall Swiftech chipset coolers that have a fan on top. Plus I have a Jing Ting Forcetake chipset cooler that I was using on that Ultra-D.

Here's the Jing Ting Forcetake cooler:

    And here's the Swiftech cooler:

Anyone have an answer about the block mounting position, or the chipset cooler?

For the D-Tek.....As long as the barb in the middle is dead center of you CPU I don't think it matters at all. For the chipset stuff you have I have no experience with those particular models and I used WB on mine.

I just don't think I need to use water for it, that and I don't like having anything else in the loop. I used to water cool the video card too, but I haven't for a few years.
