The forum doesn't resize it I think. You'll have to upload thumnail or 17" screen size pics and link to the bigger ones.

I'd say it was a push. I decided to do 2 wires on the 24-pin, because I was worried I'd have too much spaghetti falling off the board. I've managed to get it to look a little more organized, but in retrospect - I'd probably go ahead and do 1 wire ... I think it would be easier to "drape" the cables.

I found the actual sleeving took only a couple of minutes ... getting the pins out is what tortured me I think if I do another one, I'll do one at a time, but maybe look into a smaller diameter sleeve. I love the murdermods sleeving, but it may be just a bit large for the one wire sleeving ( just my opinion ... I've seen it turn out quite nicely for others).

You did a great job, moose517.

Re the pics ... if they are too large, you do have the option to resize (using Edit) in Photobucket (or just load them into Photobucket at a lower res). Then, just copy the [IMG] link directly to your post.

thanks, i'll go edit the pictures so i can have then actually show here. I'm used to EVGA's forums which auto size the pictures.

So how much sleeving should I get for my current PSU if I plan on sleeving each cable individually? (A rough estimate is fine, I would rather have a lot left over than run out while sleeving)

Check the length of your cables then multiply that by the number of cables in each one then add an extra 10' for safety.

    Nice work Shazza!

My first PSU I sleeved (Current one) took about 3 hours to do the 24pin. Having another set of hands is FAR easier.

A little tip for you all, this is from my "attempt and fail" experience - Staple are the best, no doubt about it, place the staple in the "Hole" and push it all the way down using a hard surface, then, hold the Connector (So the 24pin connect for example) with a TOWEL or RAG, then pull the cord. this method worked best for me

I cant for the life of me remove the 24pin connectors from my Corsair HX620. I can do every other cable very easily. I have now sleeved a 24pin PSU extension cable instead. Anyone got any ideas why they wont come out?

They need more force both on pushing in the remover and also on the pulling aspect. Lot's of people reported this

I found the staples worked for me as well, but one of the keys is to try and make sure you bend the staple in the center, so both ends hit the little flanges that are holding the pin in - at the same time.

My next attempt (should there ever be one!) will also be better, because I'll make sure to pull the sleeving really tight before heat shrinking.

Dangals, first thank you for sharing a good chunk of sleeving trickery, that would have been hard to come by if it were not for the open attitude you and other MurderModers (I understand you're one of them) have adopted. I'm impressed, intrigued and I want to sleeve everything inside my case right a way ... I did read the entire thread and it seems that Psychopack stuff is the way to go. Not only it's the best quality, but I'd also support MurderMod undertaking ... the problem is that I've been dreaming of white color -- are you guys (again, my operating assumption is you're one of the MurderMod team) going to have those sleeving packages in colors other than black any time soon?

Mate it was my pleasure to share the guide with the XS community!! My undertaking of this was completely inspired by the build Charles did for FriedChicken and in fact that build is what made me decide to build a MurderMod myself. Over the last months Charles and I have spoken quite abit and are now good friends

So to answer your question no I am not an employee of MurderMod the company but I believe that the white sleeving is something they are looking into (correct me if I am wrong Charles/Nils).

    Any votes for Stickydom yet?

This is an awesome thread for all those that contributed and cheers to the OP.

Petition the Admins for a sticky?

    It gets my vote.

I will definitely be checking back here when I get back to case/part modding.
fermiNow Dave will see FERMI where ever I go

    Hey guys,

I'm going to cable sleeve my case fans and was wondering what size heat shrink to use.

    I have been looking at this and wondering if it was what I need (using 1/8" cable sleeve);

I personally use 1/4in for both ( black w/ red tracer doesnt come smaller) but 1/8th and 1/8th works well, if you can find 3:1 heatshrink, use it, otherwise, a 2:1 adhesive would probably work well too

slightly above 3mm is 1/8th in, 5mm would probably work also, but if you can afford it, get some of both, in case the 3mm doesnt work out for you (imo, you can never have too much sleeving and heatshrink, lol)
