Not another Image of 55nm GT200 Exposed!

According to the image we have on hand, the mark of GT200b on GeForce GTX260 graphic card will change from 65nm “G200-103-A2″ to be “G200-103-B2″. The “B” means latest 55nm processing technology, and its production cycle happened during the 33rd week of this year (August 11th to 17th), only 5 weeks after G200-103-A2 which was manufactured in the 28th week. Therefore, obviously NVIDIA had prepared for a long time.

Remark: The earliest version of GeForce GTX260 utilized GT200 with 192SP, and it was marked as “G200-100-A2″.

The first of new GTX260 graphic cards will hit the market in January next year. The number of its stream processors will maintain as 216, and its memory frequency is unchanged as well. The reference and non-reference versions cards will be on sale at the same time. Thanks to application of new processor and the circuit designed by manufacturers themselves, the price will hopefully keep declining. The GTX260 card is already available at $264 at the lowest right now.

More high-end products based on G200b, including GTX280 and dual-core 260GX2 will also emerge in Jan 2009.

Did anyone capture a shot of that pic? It looks like the link is dead now. I;'ve got a broken link red "X" and when i click the URL I get a "page not found".

If this is indeed real, I'd love to see it.

    Now expected in January?!?

First, it was expected in October, then in November..

Recently, there were rumors from reliable sources that it is now set for December. And now, yet another 'delay' into January!

I say to Nvidia, "Too little, too late." Forget about it--it's too dangerously close to the next-gen cards based on 40nm. I do not think the G200 cards are that much faster than the 8800GTX cards to justify an upgrade yet, since the recent comparison from xbitlabs made the GTX280 look just plain awful.
    See for yourself: http://www.xbitlabs.com/articles/vid...-fall2008.html
In the games that the GTX280 run fine @1920x1200, my 8800GTX can also do just fine at the same settings. However, with the games that my 8800GTX is not good enough for (say, Stalker Clear Sky), the GTX280 still cannot run it at 1920x1200 with medium-high settings. What really turned me off is that the GTX280 only pushed 46fps average for GRID @1920x1200. My 8800GTX did 40-45fps average throughout the game (all the tracks with many cars, all settings maxed out) at the same rez. And the single 4870 leaves the GTX280 in the dust.
And there's The Witcher: the GTX280 averages 34fps, while my 8800GTX averaged about 28-30fps on the most demanding maps. Yet again, the 4870 demolishes the GTX280.
Finally there's Mass Effect: the GTX280 averaging super-low 22fps with 4xAA, my 8800GTX averaging 16-18fps with 4xAA in the worst-case scenario, and the 4870 cruising ahead @ 33fps. XbitLabs also shows the minimum fps, and the numbers stand out the same way.

Gosh, that really makes me *NOT* want the GTX280 at all. If I got the GTX280, I'd just be really pissed off at how it does not help with my games as much as I'd like over my 8800GTX.
Yeah, rather just wait for the next big jump.

Seriously, look at the g200-103-b2 the perspective of those letters and colors don't even match the rest. Also look at the color on the core itself and the metal frame surrounding it. The frame looks much more realistic, the core looks like a plastic.

I have a pic of a 32nm gt200 but I'm under NDA. The pope will kill me if I post it, though.

You're pinning your criticism of the GTX 280 on one craptastic review.

If you had bothered to look at other websites like Anandtech, Guru3d etc, you'll see that Xbitlab's numbers are WAY off..

I have both Mass Effect and the Witcher installed on my PC, and my FPS is much higher than what Xbitlabs portrays.

The very idea that a GTX 280 gets only 22 FPS at 1920x1200 in Mass Effect with 4AAx16AF is laughable. My overclocked GTX 260 never drops below 40 FPS in ME, using the same settings.

Also, they're using old drivers for both platforms...

I don't know, but I've compared the trace wiring patterns around the chip with a reference GTX280 board shot and it's kind of different from this here.

Fake or not, hell I don't care yet. I'm kind of expecting something with great price/performance ratio when the "real" one arrives.

Wait a minute, didn't RV770 cards get destroyed by nVidia's latest performance driver ?

If before that driver the condition is like what's being portrayed in that XBitLabs review, then should ATi cards get new performance driver and better quadcore+DX 10 optimisation in the coming driver releases, all the gains in performance leadership achieved from the green team latest driver could vanished and things will comeback like status quo before -RV770 spanking GT200 family valuewise.

Umm, i dunno , i only parrot what nVidia fanboys have been saying regarding the new, shining, altar God bigbang driver that they've worshipped since launched, and the result of those those paid reviews orchestrated by nVidia last week.
