well Im defragging now and its showing idle as 29c and its 21.5c in the room. Voltage in AOD is showing as 1.48v but cpuz is showing it as 1.53v

as for load using prime it went to 72c and I just stopped it there, I have a Thermalright SI-128SE with a 120mm 125cfm fan on it and its not strong enough for 4 cores, it was good with my 6400X2, load wouldnt go over 52c 3.5ghz@ 1.52v but with 4 cores at 1.5v or better it just cant handle it. my case cooling is excellent so thats not the problem.

I had hardware monitor do that a couple time on my CPU core temps.. Did you see my screen shot on the privious page? Core zero showed a high of 256*C when I did a prime run...

If you over clock in AOD with multi only, you will not see it in Vista and some other apps... but it will show in AOD and CPU-z...If you do FSB or HT ref OCing.. Vista/XP and AOD and CPU-z will see the actual speed...make any sense...? Now if you over OC in Bios..then regaurdless of Method, Vista/XP and all apps should read the correct speed...

I just did a mutli oc. And just bumped nb-vid voltage and CPU Vid up a little. Stable. So is the CPU actually at 3200mhz?

I raised my nb and HT volts to 1.4-1.45v just for the hell of it to get it stable These voltages will not harm the system if you have a cool running system if your system runs hot with minimal fans I wouldnt go far with voltages.

It took 1.5v to get to 2520 mhz though on the ht and nb which was too high so I just run between 2400-2500 in that vicinity.

Oh also turn on acc in the bios and set it to +2. If its disabled in the bios I think it stays grayed out in AOD but even if you try and set it in AOD it still makes you reboot so I just set it in the bios and left it like that.
No matter what I set ACC to in BIOS, it stays greyed out in AOD. I just downloaded the later Beta BIOS (17/10), another question though is when I can be arsed to flash it

HTT OC'ing is a serious disaster. No matter what I do, 211 was already a no go. 211x14 is just over 3Ghz, I run Prime 95 and at once it reboots out of the blue, no error, no BSOD. But 15x200 (3Ghz) is no problem at all. Quite weird. The same happens when I try to get 3.2Ghz with multiplier only, I even set 1.45Vcore, ACC at +2, +4, auto and disabled, nothing helped. On the otherhand, Im on a 64-bit OS though which of course limits me. I think it's just weird I get this wall all of a sudden since ACC +2 and +0.025Vcore is enough to run 3Ghz on multiplier only. Im fine with 3Ghz though, but it's just stupid to say the least I cant get my HTT so high. I actually wanted 250Mhz HTT so I could run my D9's 1:1 4-4-4, but that's not going to happen now. Ill try 207 8:3 5-5-5 instead then, although I prefer the other setting.

14.5x207, which Im testing now, is looking a lot stronger but time will tell. If it's stable though Ill set my RAM to 8:3. Still Im just a bit disappointed to see a relative poor OC after all. It's like >3Ghz is a no go. Im thinking of gathering information on MSR codes to clock per core and also try to get CPU tweak enabled without getting into AOD. I simply dont fancy AOD that much

hmm is you mobo sb600?? when I first started messing on overclocking the htt I also was hitting a wall around where you were, one thing that worked for me was leaving the ht multi and the nb multi on auto by doing this I had finally got up to 245mhz . also if you are not set both the nb and ht multi to the same number dont have one at 10 and the other at 9 or 8. I dont know just some food for thought

ok I see you on sb750 try those suggestions anyway if you havent.

Oh also in the bios I have 2 settings for the cpu voltages cpuvid and cpuvddc when I set them from auto to the first setting one sets to 1.000 and the other to 1.125 by moving one up the other follows at a similar ratio, do you have something similar??

Anyway, Ill try those later on. Im still Priming to see 207 is actually working.

So both HT and NB at Auto does help, but also both at the same number? I might want to try that Quite weird though because at least from the SB600 days people got better results by having the HT very low and the NB, well, just when you hit the max stable. Wll try it though.

No, I dont have those. I dont even have Vnb options. Although in the BIOS I just downloaded it's included but I first want a good CPU OC in the first place.

my best results happened when nb and ht were the same multi and same mhz but thats how it worked for me on my mobo. These are just some ideas try them out they may or may not work for you but hey might as well try anything to get past that wall.

This is weird. I cant be sure if I got it fixed now since those sudden reboots happened randomly (although within an hour).

But I set NB and HT to 8x, HTT 250 and RAM for the time being DDR667. I saved and restarted (BIOS), well, PC made POST attempts but resetted HTT.

I went to 225Mhz and it worked, 235Mhz and it failed. I was like 'Noez!', I tried it again but it simply didnt want to work. Then I set NB and HT to 9x and HTT 250 and it booted up and it's running Prime for 15 minutes already This is seriously one of those 'lolwut' moments, why the would 8x not work but 9x actually would, with all the risks involved for Volt shortage (since I still dont have the Vnb option available). That's quite weird.

Anyway, I hope it remains stable so I can set my RAM back to the good settings again.

Also, sometimes if I played with ACC, mainly trying to get 3.2Ghz and setting it to -4 I got a BSOD now and then with a Machine Check Exception/Error. Is this normal for a 'wrong' ACC setting? With ~3Ghz and +2 I never got this yet, so I assume it's just a matter of wrong/incompatible ACC settings?

try +4 on your acc and see. Usually for overclocking you dont want to go negative.

I only used - values to test

Anyway, Prime already running for an our with 250Mhz HTT. It's a miracle lol, thx Titan! Well, thus far Ive seen retarded things in my OC history, error or even a reboot after 5h+ Prime so

But thus far the result has been very good. Still I dont get it why 8x wouldnt work but 9x would, but it's the result that matters anyway.

I'm in love with my new setup. Phenoms ftw. Anyways I ran into another issue. I got my OC stable. But I can run my ram at DDR2-800 4-4-4-12. Amd overdrive will only alow me 5-4-4-12. Also how do I adjust memory voltage in AOD?

AOD should have a voltage setting that says DDR voltage. IT is where the rest of the voltages are.

Also AOD will not let you change CAS Latency in windows. Has to be done by the BIOS. Hope this helps.
