I think your apps are NOT foreseen for quadcore use Luci5er... nothing more nothing less...in my encoding (dvd ripping and co) it's so blazing fast with appropriate programs... ofcourse you are going from 2.1 to 2.6Ghz which is not a big leap, though overall system performance due to the extra cores, higher fSB and ram bandwith will be better overall... wait till you pump this baby up to 3ghz and beyond...
Question : Why do some overclockers switch into d*ckmode when money is involved
Remark : They call me Pro AsusSaaya yupp, I agree

I think that right there is the 'key'. You're 100% correct - and quite honestly I can't wait to pump it up tomorrow. I'm positive there will be a difference. I think the additional Cores & Cache is pretty much improving the overall system - the added Speed/Memory has only produced slight improvement. 100% Agreed.

Yeah I had to set it to 1:1.
I'll give out the voltages when it's stable as they'll likely be changed before it does get stable.

Cob, read through the Wiki. Pretty interesting! I can get the exact same drive (model) that I have for under $70. From what I understood, RAID 0 would be best for me as it provides the best read/write speed/performance. I'm not too concerned about mirroring because I can take a backup of the absolute essential/sensitive data and stash it aside. Day to day jobs aren't life-threatening.
Just two questions:
i) Do you suggest a Hardware or Software based RAID 0?
ii) Can you make partitions on a RAID 0 array - or does it all show up as 1 drive without possibility of creating partitions?
Also, I'm assuming, if I add another 320GB identical drive, with RAID 0 i'll actually get around 600GB space, right?
Is this easy to do on this P5Q Deluxe (Thought i'd throw this in there to keep this On-Topic![]()
)

Nice Cob, but like pointed out yaself : Try to keep them FSB Term below 1.4 plz... is it really necesarry to run 1.6...? I can do 1.3FSB with 500FSB and the quad... I would up them GTL's a bit more and try to lower FSB Term voltage... Also NB voltage is way up high...
Good show now, tweak those voltages![]()

Nice over mate, but 1.6 about vtt it's not much??
wow, i'm editing, because i saw the voltage of nb right now..
much man, i don't think you need this higher voltage

That's good show Cob, no doubts. Although I was a little concerned about the Voltages as well, both FSB term & NB.
Lee .. .what's the max we should go with NB Voltage?
Also, what is DRAM Static Read Control?

Yeah I've all w-end to tweak the volts. I was just seeing if she can do 4ghz OCCT stable.

i) The motherboards RAID is fine. And it's simple to do, tho you will have to install Windows using the RAID drivers. Or you can use the 2 orange SATA ports and they will automatically RAID0 the two drives for you.
ii) Yes you can make partitions on RAID.
You will get twice the size of the smallest drive, so yeah two 320gb drives will get you about 600gb of usable space.

dimms are fine yes. tried the same thing several times now and i get the same result.

2x1gig crucial ballistix 1600mhz 7-7-7-20-1t

Pc Power and Cooling 860watt psu (ttried my galaxy 1kw as well)
xigmatek HDT-1283, water setup
Guys did you find any beta bios update for P5Q (not deluxe)?I read about 0702/0704 for deluxe and others, but nothing for mine..
i) If I use the two Orange SATA ports, do I still have to install Windows using RAID drivers? I'm prepared to format the two drives & re-install Vista, that's not a problem - as long as I don't have to do something special, or something I haven't done before.
ii) So for example, I'll see a C: drive of about 600GB, on which I can do anything I want, like partitions, etc.
One last Query: I know that on RAID 0 if any disk fails, all is lost - whereas in RAID 1 if one disk fails, you can replace it & nothing is lost. But you do get twice the size using RAID 0 and half the size using RAID 1. Just exclusively performance wise - is there a difference between RAID 0 & RAID 1?
Thanks - I appreciate it!
