Yes and no. it had less affect on the 4850 but see for yourself. I updated the second post to show the scores since I feel lots of people would be using lower cpu speeds and lower res.

Thanks for that Jimmy, but whats the framerate on the custom config WITHOUT any AA, and is there a big increase in framerates once you clock it back to 4Ghz, again with the same config?

I think i may have to invest in one of these....and then maybe another at some point

    Main Rig

    Intel Core i7-2600K (SLB8W, E0 Stepping) @ 4.6Ghz (4.6x100), Corsair H80i AIO Cooler
    MSI Z77A GD-65 Gaming (MS-7551), v25 BIOS
    Kingston HyperX 16GB (2x8GB) PC3-19200 Kit (HX24C11BRK2/16-OC) @ 1.5v, 11-13-13-30 Timings (1:8 Ratio)
    8GB MSI Radeon R9 390X (1080 Mhz Core, 6000 Mhz Memory)
NZXT H440 Case with NZXT Hue+ Installed
    24" Dell U2412HM (1920x1200, e-IPS panel)
    1 x 500GB Samsung 850 EVO (Boot & Install)
1 x 2Tb Hitachi 7K2000 in External Enclosure (Scratch Disk)

    Entertainment Setup

    Samsung Series 6 37" 1080p TV
Gigabyte GA-J1800N-D2H based media PC, Mini ITX Case, Blu-Ray Drive
    Netgear ReadyNAS104 w/4x2TB Toshiba DTACA200's for 5.8TB Volume size

I refuse to participate in any debate with creationists because doing so would give them the "oxygen of respectability" that they want.

Aaaah - gotcha, i see now

7fps improvement....how smoothly did it look...and more importantly, how GOOD did it look?

It“s not pretende 4850 vga card maestream?
These runs at 3240 Mhz on the cpu. including custom config runs.

A member ask me to post a comparison with his rig. so this is for Kai. But I figured the rest of you might like a lower cpu run or two. these also are at 1400 x 960 so that might be of use to some also. this represents a midrange rig a little better.?performance down

It looks good but it is scaling from my native 1920 x 1200. I went ahead and jumped back up to 4.8ghz and ran instead. slowed the ram just so I wouldn't have any probs.

doomwill, what do you mean it is not a mainstream card? I don't get your post. please explain better.

This is looking more and more awesome.

I wish my motherboard supported SLI... So now I have to decide whether to go cheap and get a 4850, spend a litter more for a 4870 (probably the best choice), or wait for the 4870 X2.

I speak to vga 4850 can not be considered a mainstream card, with that low xcore in crysis, where is the problem?

In which segment it fits, near vga that can place it? Future drivers will have chance to improve?

Erm - hate to break it to you, but it IS a mainstream card, in the price point its aimed at, and it outperforms my 8800GT....

    Will you do a few game benches @ 3.0ghz, nobody who buys a HD4850 will have a QX9650 @ 4.80ghz

Crysis benches are meh, I sold one of my 8800gtx's for €210 2 weeks ago and this card is not faster..

use the 3.24 Ghz as before, maybe? Most C2D's can do that at the very least!

Those results make it a bit faster than 8800gts, which are alot cheaper..

    8800gts $146

and Dragonavenger, I have different drivers, You have a card with GDDR4 and 225mhz more core clock, and you are showing a shot where I was using Kai's custom config file. the results are not comparable. that is why I used big type above the pics

Eh, this will likely be cheaper than an 8800GTS 512...which are still at least £60 more than the 8800GT's here (which are £120 at least ($240))

I used to have the same problem with the benchmark, where it would just start the game with the dev mode thing on in the corner. To get it working I had to compleatly remove everything from Crysis and the benchmark off the HDD, then reinstall both the game and the benchmark. After that it worked.

I personally feel the benchmark is more of a worse case senario or something. At 1680x1050 all very high no AA, I can play the game with steady frames (over 22 90% of the time), and it only slows down when there are over 30 guys around me. Thats with a single Sapphire Toxic 3870 at stock clocks, and a E8400 at 3.8. The benchmark however, says 16fps with those settings.

Something wrong? Doubtful, it's a fresh clean install... I do have HQ 16x AF and MSAA transparency set in the control panel, maybe that affects it? If there's something wrong, what would you say it might be, rather than just "something wrong", not very helpful?
