Ok, fellas, I need help. I have posted a help thread in the Itel support section, but since it pertains to this board I am posting a link to the thread I started to see if any of you super gurus can lend a helping hand!

Thanks in advance. The link to the other thread is here:

How do I manually set NB voltage? Is this the same as CPU FSB?

I have the voltages set to Auto for cpu and in cpu-z it says it is 1.32volts. Why is this higher than what others are getting in auto settings?

I flashed bios yesterday.... I have an E8400 on air and want 4.0ghz. I'm thinking I will set FSB to 1800 with a 9x multi. What voltages should I start with? I'm thinking since it says 1.32 in cpu-z it should be good for now.

Also I have sli enabled (expert) running linked with sync for memory. This should give me 900mhz. Do you think i'll need to loosen timings? Isnt the only other way to run 800mhz with an 1800mhz fsb to run unlinked and manually set speed? I'm new and need help.

memory is OCZ reaper pc6400 2X2 (that's why I need to know how to bump NB voltages) running at 1600fsb linked in sync mode with 4-4-4-15 timings.

    Help me!!!

Have you tried the settings here outlined earlier? These are working with a QX9650 / Q6600 on an eVGA Board running the P03 Bios (XFX version)?

The QX9650 is fully unlocked on this board with current BIOS such as P03.

There shouldn't be a problem with mixing optical drives and a RAID array.

eVGA has just informed me that this is a known issue with the 780i boards. They also advised me that a BIOS update is in the works to fix this issue.

    FYI

Many Thanks as well for the nfo. Any word about a new version of MediaShield? or perhaps a new version of nForce 780i chipset drivers?

I was wondering, i'm getting an EVGA board soon, and i'm gonna OC'it.
I was wondering wich components i should watercool to be safe.

    PWM?
    NB?
    SB?

I dont want them to get to high for temps. But if it's not critical to WC them, i'm not going to...

Also, i just realized, pci-e 1 and 2 slots can only be overclocked within windows with ntune software, otherwise only pci-e is controlled with bios, i find this odd.

ok so i figured out pci-e 1 and 2 are by default working at 125mhz, controlled by the nf200 chipset.

IIRC when you are running PCIe2 compliant GPUs then the OC options are removed leaving just PCIe_3 visible in BIOS.

I feel your pain! I finally got my Q6600 @3.6 400x9 800ddr 1.575v Prime95 to remain stable for 24 hours using Blend. I previously thought I had it stable with 1.45v using small FFTs but then I noticed your conversation concerning the best way to determine stability and found that using Blend it failed around 7 hours.

    CPU Core: 1.575 Idle: 1.52 Load: ~1.46-1.48
    CPU FSB: 1.3
    nForce SPP: 1.5
    nFourc MCP: 1.5
HT nForce SPP <-> MCP: 1.3

I tried a CPU Core of 1.55v but that failed. I'm not sure I can go any higher.

I haven't yet had a game cause a frozen screen.

GAR, would you recommend th 4GB G.Skill PC8000 memory that's in your signature and is it the G.Skill F2-8000CL5D-4GBPQ (2GB x 2) EPP Ready.

I'm looking for a good 4GB memory set and another 8800GT to match the one that I have.

Yeah they are awsome, if you get them make sure you use 1.5v on the NB when using 400fsb, then 533mhz should be easy.

I couldn't resist buying them from Newegg for $114.99. That included an instant savings of $35 and free 3-day shipping.

nope....but i do get kind of a cold boot issue...with the clock in my sig, if i boot from a cold start, i need to go into bios, and just f10 outta there without changing anything, and then it will boot...most of the time..

I have alot of issues with mine. I can't get it to boot in between 3.68~ and 3.79~ after that it opens up a little then I can't get it to be stable though. I can push 3.6 all day stable with a Q6600 G0 by the way sorry. I am able to stick that processor right back into my other MB, a GA-P35-DQ6 and crank it right up to 4.15Ghz with out a problem?? I have messed with the +..mv settings and found that with a +105 setting on all of the 0-3 that I can sort of get it stable @ 1700 but, 1650 will not go with +85mv or +105mv?. This board is freaking wierd. I am about to take it back I swear.. Does this VDROOP mod do any good? Is it really worth the hassle? I appreciate input on this. I will tell all the settings I tried which were like everything under the sun. I am a pretty avid overclocker so,,.

ok guys, just had another 780i just die out of the blue... rebooted after installing updates and the machine is stuck at the first post screen. This is now 3 boards for me in various builds that have kicked the bucket. Mind you now 2 of them were for builds for other people with no overclocking.. mine was.. but it was in spec in terms of overclocking. I went back to my trust maximus formula board and I am currently playing with a 3870x2.

Yeah overall I think they did some improvements with the 780i but I have used 6 now and 3 have run into problems. These problems are similar to what plagued the 680i boards.
