I spent about 45 mins looking for a new version of that last night. The one on the MSI site doesn't support the CPU I'm using.

Intel might have lead in performence but stabilty well no comment

If your An Asus fan like me you want to preorder this baby

Deffinetly a nice board but somewhat expensive (I don't want to spend more than 200E per component even though I've got an unlimited budget.I know it sounds strange but it's standard price policy for me). Also I think it;s got some layout issues (if you look closer you'll notice that the last 2 pcie slots are to close .Of course this is important only if you want quadfire but that's exactly what I have in mind) and I don't like the built in ramsinks.I mean how am I supposed to use any decent ram modules that have ramsinks without voiding the warranty. However I might as well wait for the reviews and see what will happen by then or I migt pull the trigger and buy the gigabyte , but the placement of the pcie slots at this board is awfull .It's an actual heat trap tha could turn out to be a "death" trap for the 4 3850 512mb I'm planing to buy.

Well well well, I just so happened to be looking on Scan yesterday when i Noticed the board was back in stock

So i went ahead and ordered this -

    Lian Li PC A05B
    Gigabyte GA-MA790FX-DQ6
    AMD AM2 Athlon 64 5000+ Black
    Corsair HX620
    Zalman CNPS9700
    2x 120mm Scythe S-FLEX 1200RPM
    Corsair Dominator Airflow Fan

Gonna stick with my trusty x1900XT for now and wait for 3850 to show up video wise. Anything not on the list is being recycled from my existing build or my pile of bits in the corner of my room(X-Fi,Optical,HD,Mushkin Low Latancy 2GB DDR2 Kit)

My current rig uses Zalman coolers on the GPU and CPU and Scythe fans in the case so im basicly sticking to what I know works well as far as cooling goes.

Ok, no argue with that, but you could have had Tuniq Tower 120 or Ultra120 eXtreme for something as 10$ more than that 9700, and they perform significantly better.
But if you are after aesthetics then i agree, Zalmans are pretty.

430 FSB is yummy. Remember the last board I had was the Neo 2 Platinum could do 340 Mhz and that board was awesome

I prefer the Zalmans mainly because i find the "built in" fan on the cooler reduces the chance of any werid resonance/vibrations happening that i am very sensitive to VS a cooler with a fan mounted onto it. Also the Zalmans even cranked to max RPM have a non intrusive "windy" fan noise. So yes its all about the Noise with the Zalmans .. though of corse they do look nice and are very well built as well

All greased up and no Phenom to shove in there!

Can't finish the topside insulation yet, I need to be able to fit the bracket still as I want to play with air first, as we all will I guess

Does any body know, what is the latest BIOS version for GA-MA790FX DQ6? I have F2i version dated with November 6, 2007.
