DFI 680i LT lanparty UT

Is this the only board coming from the DFI camp based on the 680i or will there be a board based on the full fledged 680i SLI?

DFI LanParty Series is the only reason I might consider switching from X2 to C2D X2. I love the red & yellow colour scheme and it reminded me on the legendary DFI LanParty Ultra-D.

Well the 680LT is a newer chipset. It's removed some of the overclocking limitations of the 680i and squashed some bugs. The biggest benefit will be seen in it's lack of RAID or SATA issues that plagued the 680i boards. Because the 680LT will be combined with an nForce 570MCP as opposed to an nForce 590, all the problems with RAID should be gone. Overall, it's going to be a more mature platform that's had more thought put into it. You can credit most of this boards delay to Oskar's awareness of the immanent arrival of this newer chipset.

those issues have been fixed already.................if you are talking about write/read performance in HD tech that means jack in real world anyways

they are roughly the same age but full 680i supports higher speed RAM natively...i haven't looked into other specs but one thing is for sure C55XE is top of the range chip and this motherboard isn't using that.....whether it makes any difference we probably won't know >>>> one thing this board has is Oscar factor which is a big plus in my book and i know he will take this bios to places no nvidia engineer or other manufacturers can

Now all I need is DFI to make a LP UT eATX 680i/LT with at least 3 usable PCI slots while running G80 SLI. Might also help with finding the best possible layout & spacings.

Why don't they make some enthusiast boards (1 CPU) in eATX? Lord knows there's plenty of cases that support eATX.

I did see that one, thanks. Towards the end there's a suggestion to change some options in the controller dev mgr panel, but yeah...real world would be nice. I played some C&C3 w/ a bud last night and even tho the level loads aren't long, the stripe finishes 2x faster than his single drive...just wanna know if 680 can keep up that level of perf.

I have been trying to track down an actual release date for this board but it's been very difficult to do? From the DFI Power Point slides it looked like an April release for both 680i and P965 but some are saying it's close to 10months to a year before we actually see them for sale. Well does anyone have a more concrete answer regarding release date on these boards, or at least a more accurate ball-park date? Thanks

570 is the same age as 590 and when combined with 650/680 chipset DOES NOT have the same HD controller problems.

ASUS 680i boards don't have those issues, but they have lots of others to replace those...

I have heard the same thing from more people than just EnJoY about the 680iLT/570 combo being better than the 680i/590. Plus why would Oskar choose this combo over the more mainstream/enthusiast 680i/590? I for one would happily run this board despite using the 680iLT chipset!

Although it probably won't be enough for higher clockspeeds and higher voltages it's great to see it's not connected to all the other heatsinks via a heatpipe! This should make it much easier to replace with another cooler! Heck I even like eVGA's 680iLT cooling better than the stock 680i heatpipe cooling.

Although this is a bit off topic guys I still think it's relavent to the discussion here? There has been some discussion in this thread about what southbridge (MCP) was going to be used on the DFI 680i motherboard and what MCP would be better. It looks like it's going to ship with the 570MCP instead of the 590MCP that most high-end 680i boards have been using. Well I'm currenlty on my 4th eVGA 680i AR/A1 motherboard. My first two boards were AR revisions and my last two boards have been A1 revisions. My first A1 revision was delivered a couple weeks ago when eVGA was sending out replacments for better C2Q overclocking (GTL mods) and was recenlty RMA'ed due to some major problems. Well my 2nd A1 revision just arrived a few days ago and after removing the stock heatpipe coolers to mount my chipset waterblocks I noticed something very intersting!

Unlike my first three eVGA 680i boards this one came with a 570MCP instead of the 590MCP which was a bit suprise to me as I hadn't heard anything about eVGA replacing the MCP from anyone! With that said this has been my best 680i board yet, no problems and very stable overclocker so far! Anyway I just thought I'd let you guys know since I image we'll start to see this on many of the 680i boards? I'm gonna try getting in touch with eVGA to ask about this but I'm not holding my breath, lol!

the international rma dept seems to have no new board ....
