    Talking

i had a CCBWE 0546XPMW on T_T Bigwater 735 at 9X 314 @ 1.65Vcore but no prime shots as the bigwater lived up to its rep

    EDIT: opteron 170 39 load

would it be better for me to get a 165 and a 170 or 2x 165's or a 180 for next cpu (want a new stepping)

looks like dave at www.flickerdown.com has 165 ccb1e 0606 vpmw.
that would be my choice if i was going fo 2.8-3.0 Ghz if you dont feel like gambling.

    Can I hit 3GHz on water (Storm v2, HD20 pump, BIP3 w/ YLoons)?
No. It is the least deserving one listed on the honorable mention. 2.85, more than that is lucky.

? Former owner says he ran it @2.75.-2.8GHz on stock cooling Vcore 1.5xx... shouldn't that 200MHz come if I give it 1.6-1.7 or even higher?

My 0546xpmw on water does 2.7 @ 1.475 2.75 @ 1.55 and needs 1.65 just to hit 2.8 and thats without IHS so its near a wall of diminishing returns... gl though hope your's does better... btw those settings are for 24+ hrs prime stable

I'm still testing my new 0610DPMW. I'm pushing closer and closer to 2.9GHz on aircooling and currently using 1.415v. Seems to be real stable at 2853MHz now. It wanted to error out in Prime95 the other day with 1.42V at that speed even though it was a rock at 2808MHz all night long. It must be breaking in a little or something. I could probably get 3GHz if i shot the volts but i dont think i will. I just want to get the max clock i can on a low voltage.

That's expected for CCB1E, what volts does it need?

I had a 175 0541, TPMW if I remember correctly, one of the worst steppings ever! Took a slight bump in voltage to get 2.4 stable!

Ironically, a 0546MPMW holds the WR for Opteron 165.

Probably because of phase and no cold bug on ridiculous volts.

To those running 1.5xx volts on these Dualies...are you planning to run them 24/7 stable as an everyday rig?? I've been told that the dualcores especially can't take that abuse for too long(key word, "been told")

I'm asking because I don't know. I'm new to the dualcore scene, is it safe**? haha, What is the danger/breaking point for a dual core amd chip with volts?

man..I ordered a dualie twice!! and wussed out twice! because monarch took too long to ship and I came to my senses with saving my money to buy stupid college books, lol...but I am pretty close to doing it again.
