noise, I hate noise... any way to quiet this bugger down?

Hi I have a Asus A8R32-MVP deluxe mobo and a sandy 3700+, comp runs great but there is one thing that is bugging me - every so often I hear a buzz/squeal noise, very small, but still noticable. I hear it mostly when the comp is busy doing something, like if I load up a ton of graphics or whatever. I think it might be inductor sing.

Is there any way to pinpoint what exactly it is making the noise and hush it up or will I just have to live with it? I like quiet comps and this noise bugs me

and if this is the wrong place to put this please let me know - I'm new here

try to pinpoint exactly where the noise coming from, it could be from hard drive, PSU, or perhaps those little coils on the mobo....

OK It isn't from the HD or the PSU. It is coming from the general location of the southbridge. THere are two coils nearby, you can see them in this pic. If it is coming from them, is there a way to kill the noise somehow?

By the way, Just to be sure it wasn't coming from noise in the power lines, i put a ferrite bead around the 24pin connector wires. No difference so apparently it wasn't that.

What was the consensus of opinion? Did anyone pinpoint their sources?

if the coils are making noise, you can try some silicone sealant(clear or white color) to conceal them.

I've seen people use nail varnish on them a few coats and let it soak in that works.
