Use SPD Tool and change there the CAS. But not do it with both modules, just on one at a time, in order to have the second healthy, to use it if 1st fails to boot.
When using 2 modules with different CAS, bios will auto-assign the higher CAS so then you can change again the CAS with SPD tool (or restore original SPD file)

After about 2 hours I finally managed how to change CAS in SPDTool. Now are my modules running stable at 3-3-3-8. Thank you!

I really hope you were sure that your memory modules can run at those settings.

Well of course I didn't jumped straight from 4-4-4-12 to 3-3-3-8. First I found with MemSet that my memory is capable of running at 4-2-2-5, so I decided that there shouldn't be a problem to run it at 3-4-4-12. So I have set 3-4-4-12 in SPDTool and it was running fine, so I went back to MemSet and found that even 3-2-2-5 is running fine, which I found hard to believe, so I have set 3-3-3-8 in SPDTool and leave it that way. So far I have run only 2 hours of memtest, but it's stable.

    cpu frequency

    hi Felix,

just tried v1.5 with my new 875k setup, EIST disabled, ratio is x27, CPU-z, intel freqency display v2.20 correctly show 3600MHz for all cores, Cpu Tweaker shows 133x9=1200MHz. why?

=>Vincent: Could you make a registers dump (with cpuz->last table->Save report (.TXT))
and send it at memset@hotmail.fr .

I just tried CPU-tweaker 1.5 and every time i run it after a few seconds I get a "divide by zero" error (Exception EDivByZero in module CPU-Tweaker.exe at 000D9AA1) and program exits. Is this a known problem?

Also when I run Memset 4.1 the "Apply" button is disabled... does it not work on Rampage II board?

    Unfortunately no.
Asus locked the memory space where are stored the memory latencies, so no way.

I had/have same problem and it looked like fixed once, but actually wasn't. Didn't want to bother FELIX any more about it, as it looked like I was the only one.
Anyway, program works (for me at least) even when error is displayed, I just move the window to the side and continue tweaking.

Felix seems that the clocks are reading incorrect on the new 95W 1055T's at least in my case.
    Running Asus CH4 E , 1055T 95W, F3-16000CL7D flares

    Nice app BTW!

    Eist

Been using this for a while now & its been excellent so Felix

On a non important side note ... the EIST box is always checked/ticked when I have EIST disabled in the BIOS.

Edit.... Think its something to do with the BIOS fooling the chip to run on Turbo mode all the time so dont think its an issue.

Hi to all extrem systems overclockers! I often felt into your website when doing overclocking search with google, and often the answers were very interesting.
Now I explain briefly my situation:
Recently i had to do a clearCMOS with my Asus P5K Premium Wifi-AP, and so i lost my overclocking settings and i did not save it anywhere. (actually i did save it into OC profiles, but i was unable to restore it, the values were not the good ones). All i have saved before clear CMOS is a CPU-Z full dump (registers report). I'd like to restore the old timings i had at the time of this dump, but for this i'd need to parse the MCHBAR dump into cpu-z report. I'm unable to do this myself, but i think that somebody here could do. I was thinking about something that would be really cool: What if we could just open an MCHBAR dump (hex byte format from cpu-z or mchbaredit) into memset and then just read the parsed timings from it? Actually something that may be useful would be a SAVE/OPEN feature into memset, so that we could import/export the mchbar dump corresponding to the displayed timings. What do you think Felix?

Felix: Great program, thank you for it and MemSet!

For AMD's UnCore, you do not have to restart for it to apply, so you could edit that part out for them. Also maybe a rename to CPU-NB?

Then is there perhaps a way to enable (un-gray out) the options to change the: tWR, HyperTransport multi/voltage, Driver Weak Mode and Power Down Mode? While the latter 2 aren't too much of interest, the tWR and HT would be really nice to have as it would mean I'd not need AMD OverDrive anymore!

As for an option that isn't in the program: There any way to add the ability to change the memory divider? A64Info for the S939 had that option and that was almost my favorite feature, as it let me do just about every bit of overclocking from Windows except for HT multiplier. I miss being able to change that on the fly for the option of changing timings lower if a program happens to be more responsive to them as apposed to clock speed

    Anyways, thanks again!

Great software. I've own a laptop for more than a year that the limiting factor for overclock was obviously the memory, and only today I had this idea to search if there was a software able to change timings on windows.

While I'm able to change tRCD, tRP and tRAS I can't change CL, I can choose some other number, but it just ignores and return to the default, I don't even have to apply the settings for that to happen. Does that mean that only CL is locked?

Edit: Nevermind, tried SPDTool but apparently my memory doesn't support CAS over 6, at least the only options there are 4, 5 and 6.

Well it might be that (lack of supported CAS), in my experience with other program, the programmers often lock that option out due to almost certain chance of locking the system if you try to change it.

Give Taiphoon (spelled as such) a go, it's like SPDTool, though sadly it has to be registered to program the SPD Tables

Maybe we should ask which data he needs for Sandy-Bridge-support and show we would like to help and provide these data and do some beta-testing if necessary.

    I agree, dinos22.
Perhaps FELIX is currently busy, or needs a SB setup to work on his software. Whatever it is, it is understandable, and I am sure he will let us know sooner or later.

...yes I'm very busy at this time (and probably for a long time )
but I try to take some time for make a SD update, simply the
Intel datasheet report nothing about memory timings and other setting.
and I can't do nothing without it.
