I've started a new method on beating cancer.

    Its been 48 hours haha!
But I've decided this is the time to do it and make it count.

Any other smokers out there keen to join me?

Not a smoker (2nd hand would get me sick even) but I'm here supporting you. I had a coworker at my old job who quit and said it was one of the best things he ever did and now he can't stand even the smell of a cigarette let alone smoke one.

+1 to all of that. I've heard the same story from a ton of former smokers.

slaveondope, do it man, don't even finish ya next pack or smoke, just chuck it out.

a few of my friends quit a few weeks back, since then it just seems silly to keep smoking.
funny how hanging with smokers, turns you into one and then hanging with non-smokers, makes you quit.
    gotta love friends

I also decided to quit today (only had one smoke at 6 am and now its 8 pm - 14 hours later). Hopefully it will be my last one ever. So, One today and none tomorrow, I’ve have heard the first 24 hours is the hardest and I'm nearly there. I have locked my remaining tobacco in the boot of my car and hopefully I won't be tempted to go get it tonight.

I had to give up by Thursday anyway sine I'm going under the knife with a General Anesthetic for a Non Smoking related issue.

Throw it out. Give it to a smoker. Burn it. Do what you must but remove the temptation

Stopped smoking on 3 februari this year . Never gonna smoke another one ... can't really stand cigarettes anymore but I don't complain about it cause I smoked almost 20 years.
I stopped after having a collapsed lung and I also lost a part of my right lung.
My roommate in hospital had lung cancer .... makes you think about .
Food tastes so much better and I have a much better appetite ... I can eat tons now which is good cause i'm quite skinny

This is cool, didn't expect there to be any other smokers round these ways.
Good on ya Oj101, Snakebite and Jaco!

Everyone says first few days are the hardest, I disagree, when I'm drinking, that is the hardest test for me haha.

I agree. Best of luck to you. BTW you should just throw that last pack away. How can you be motivated, when your counting down the packs until you run out?

Good luck to you. My father passed away from Lung cancer last month that was undoubtedly due to smoking for 50+ years.

Stay motivated. If you feel a craving have some water or chew some gum etc Hardest part is braking the habit ie drinking and smoking.

I quit back in 2005 and havent had one since after 10+ years of smoking.

Stay strong, life is better without!
