Try the original bios shipped with the rev 304 board. He didn't say anything about which bios was used but it may have some effect I hope

I don't know, the question wasn't asked by myself or others. I assumed it was the 304 since the 302 doesn't support Conroe. Hopefully some of the others that continued to ask questions after I left will post some better results on this or other sites. I myself am still gonna give it a try after I pick up a board & cpu. I'll grab both boards and see.Originally Posted by 5-Clicks

Maybe it's just for X6800..... That's what i'm thinking
My Rig:
Intel Core 2 Duo E6400
2x512mb Micron PC3200 OEM D9DQW "Fatbody"
Biostar TForce P965 Deluxe
MSI/Medion GeForce 6700XL (Cheap )
Chieftec 360W (in search for someting better)
WD 160GB S-ATA
Marketing Rep, I think you have your answer right there
when i'm done with the P5W DH, i'll try your mod on my bad axe

What stepping cpu's do you guys have? Maybe it works on the earlier/later steppings. I don't think he was untruthful, there just may be to variables I'm not aware of.

Maybe a jumper needs to be on it...as in pins sticking through the board. There might be an anti-conductive coating or something on the pads.
It is an interesting point on the board, does have a 'testing' appearance to it.
what are these holes for?
E8400 E0 @ 4.00 GHZ, DFI P45 T2RS+, 4X2GB Mushkin 1066 996599, Radeon 4890 , Enermax Liberty 620W , 4X500GB HDD+Samsung SLC 64gb SSD.
all paired with a LG 245WP
Mounting holes for a 2-pin header/jumper possibly.
If Intel suddenly let that slip....they`d lose a LOT of money, so I`m not sure if this is true
True but shipping the boards with a bios that prevents it would quickly solve it, which they may have already done.Originally Posted by K404

I hope you guys aren't shorting these points. That silkscreen is for a capacitor not installed on the board and that would short some supply voltage directly to ground.

FCG or Fugger could probably confirm if it work or not

lol, that is most certainly not for a header. those are SMD pads for either 1) a resistor, or 2) a capacitor.Originally Posted by brentpresley

If you ask me it's obviously for some kind of lead to 'plug' into the board, not unused SMD's, especially with they way it's marked.

In the first post he says jump MFG and JB4. I see MFG and J8 J4 in those pics. Something aint right.
I don't get the point why this thread is rated 5 stars if nobody could get the mod to works.
I seriously doubt that a simble mod like that would unlock multi upward
Another of my mistakes, I'll correct the first post. Remember I don't own this board, I've only seen it @ Fry's and the Quakecon Intel Demonstration. I'm still having hope the mod works, as I still don't think the rep lied to a crowd of hundreds of people. This will get figured out, and I fully believe that if it can happen xtremesytem members will figure it out. That's why I posted hereOriginally Posted by ProfessorFate
