Working with the BIOS right now. Really doesn't like to OC from what I can tell. I'll write up a full bug list by the end of this week.

Good News:
1. loaded the new BIOS without issues. Did a full CMOS clear, battery out blah blah....
2. My 1090T is properly recognized and runs at default with no issues (8GB GSkill DDR2 2.0v - works fine in dual channel)
Bad News:
1. No overclocking is possible. The bios completely ignores the CPU multiplier setting. For example: setting the multiplier to 20, the board still boots at 3.2 (default)
2. Raising the bus to 250, multiplier to 16 - no boot.
VERY disappointed.
Need a new BIOS ASAP.

Just tried 240, posted but during OS load it stopped.
225 is good tho.
Did you disable CnQ? That is a requirement on the 790FX with Thuban compared to the 890FX chipsets in order for the multipliers to hold. Also, voltages will have to be tuned manually when overclocking at this point as the auto rule set is still being tuned due to the differences between chipsets.

Any reason why we can't use Multipliers to OC?
Quick update:
So in the BIOS or in POST, the CPU information does not update the CPU speed, but will with the CPU-NB.

Yep - pretty similar to what I am seeing as well. Cannot overclock from the BIOS or AOD. Multiplier change is completely ignored. The Motherbaord Temp of 89C is puzzling. Can you run http://cpuid.com/hwmonitor.php and post a screen shot of HW Monitor? I suspect the 89C is the PWM temp which looks pretty high for Default settings.
CPU Temp says I have 15C....
Although the BIOS Temp guage seems to be working fine.
Just got 231 to work on the FSB.
Using a vLite version of Vista though, so not to sure how it will work on a standard OS.
We have another BIOS in testing for the 1090T multiplier problems and to resolve some of the low HT Ref Clock problems. I will give an update once it hits qualification testing.

Cool thanks man.
Btw, 4.0ghz is Possible, at least in a vLite OS. Not quite stable but it works.
Has anybody tried this BIOS to make sure it still works with older quads? If not, I'll try it out and see how everything works.
OK more testing instead of booting from defaults..
And thats the problem >> It will not post if changing anything CPU related or dram. Back to 803/1001 for me.
Also boots at 800mhz
CNQ disable/enabled
HDZ955FGBIBOX
Any updates?
Hope its late this week - would give us the long weekend to play with it![]()
Coo Thanks
