The Scythe S-Flex Gs getting some MDPC-X Psychopack lovin':

    Mounted on the 360:

I could swear BitsPower fittings must be laced with crack. Or I'm just drawn to things smooth, silver and shiny.
Like a brainless drone obeying the voices that sang out in majestic harmony, "Buy more. Immerse yourself in silver, shimmery goodness." while harps playing in the background and angels flying overhead.

So like a robot, I did. Here are some pics:

    Bitspower fittings >< Me

    More updates soon!

    Nice case and pedastal ....

Question on your Pedastal? Did MM custom fab the side panel for it, since i know the monsta has non standard 140 spacing? I would like a similar pedestal for a test bench I have with a monsta rad?

Thanks jpm I measured and remeasured a blank pedestal side panel I ordered from MM. Took a couple of deep breathes and showed it the business end of my hand drill. The gods smiled on me that day as the holes lined up perfectly. I shall be cutting said panel and fixing to mount some type of grill situation.

Heyas ToX . Do it! You're in very good company here. There are a few knowledgable ladies (yes, we have quite a few here. Shazza being one) and gentlemen who are more than willing to help you get started. It can get addicting and can be a very expensive hobby. But after a successful build, it makes you very proud of yourself. And that's a pretty good addiction.

You're too kind to say, Shazza. I'm aiming for a cleaner build on this one. As you know, the challenges with such a big case is wire management. Got my work cut out for me. P.S. Welcome back. Any pics of pirates from Scotland?

Armeniandave gave me the idea of using metal "conduits" to help aleviate the look of exposed wires. The huge MM case lends itself in providing lots of room for parts.
The price you pay for that, however, is increased difficulty in wire management. I can only hope I can pull it off as well as he did on his inspiring build.

Whatever and however the outcome, I intend to enjoy the journey getting there:

Instead of having the motherboard tray sit flush with the bottom panel (which is essentially the midplate once the pedestal is attached), I rotated the back panel so that tray sits almost flush with the top panel.

This 1/8" thick wall bar will provide support for the tray, be the cpu's res mount, and hide the wires that feed the power to the components within the pedestal:

I hope to have some more drilling done on the bottom panel. I'll be sure to post pics as soon as I am able. It's awfully late and I'm beginning to see in double vision beginning to see in double vision.

    Thanks for viewing!

Looks great CDF. You have some talent with that camera.

The conduit is a cool idea. I like that you are using that square stock too. It should go well with a MM case.

Thanks Winston! I can't take credit for the BP shots turning out so nice. I mean if you were to take a crappy pic of Megan Fox, it'll still be a picture of Megan Fox.

I seriously have no clue. I actually went downstairs with the clear intention of giving you some kind of report. All it says is "Work Surface" and no name brand anywhere to be found. I picked it up at my local Home Depot. Its made of plastic, but it serves its purpose for what I do.

    Made you look.

Joking aside, thanks Neox. I use those thingy-ma-jiggers you use to clean sunglasses lenses. Works well to get rid of fingerprints and other weird, unknown smudges. Eww.

I'm currently torture testing using the stock Intel fan. (I know, huh?) I may further test using the Zalman fan. I'll post some numbers once I'm done.
Both waterblocks pictured below are HeatKillers Rev 3.0. One has been nickel plated.
After recording temps on air, I'm interested to see how much of a performance gain I'll obtain using one of these bad mama jammas (is that how you spell that?).

Anyway, I'm currently between platers, so one HK is in need of some nickel plate lovin'. I called my plater after not being in touch for a couple of years and his outgoing message said, "I've moved on to greener pastures. Thank you for your business throughout the years. I"ll be in touch."

I've emailed some plating peeps locally and they either don't reply or it's "Yeah. We don't do that here."

So I went the easy route to get one for now. Yes. I admit it. I got it off Gary. Yes. I paid that much. How does that old adage go? "Desperate times call for fast nickel plated blocks."

(And what EXACTLY are "greener" pastures? I mean since it's always greener on the other side, I actually picture him constantly jumping over all his neighbour's fences. He's an older gentleman so it's quite funny if you were to see my visual.)

If I could avoid sending the block off to have it plated then so much the better, but there must be somebody around here that can hook me up. It's not like I live in the Artic (no offense to Artic residents):

And if you DO live in the Artic region, do you folks have to water cool your PCs? Aren't your ambients cold enough to freeze water? Cuz that's super cool (pun intended).

So I have both the Classified X58 and Rampage II. And after much pondering and an involved and strenuous decision making procedure (I flipped a coin), I went with the ASUS board. The Classified will be fitted in my next build - a LiLi with a red and black theme. Since this build's color scheme will be black and blue, the coin toss proved to be a good method for matching boards with color themes.

    RIIE:

    Black Freezer Full Board Block:

Pardon. The nickel made me bust out the rum, yo ho:

Currently being ripped open, streamlined of its casing and fitted with EK- FC 285 GTX-GW Acylic/Nickel blocks:

    NVIDIA had me at,
"...SLI technology and 1GB of dedicated graphics memory provide blazing fast frame rates with game settings and resolution maxed out (2560x1600)"

A third card may be joining this party of two, but I'll do more research (reading reviews, rendering 3-D animation, googling, visiting forums and playing games. Ok. Maybe just playing games ) to see if the price tag is worth it:

I'm crossing my fingers, knocking on wood, swabbing the deck, walking the plank etc. in hopes that the Acrylic and Nickel on the the EK GPU block will complement the overall color theme of the build.

    Why wouldn't it?

Well I could go blind and fill the GPU loop with Rum (accidentally). Blue and brown clash on the Primary Color Wheel of all things Visually Agreeable to the Human Eye. No seriously. Google it. (Don't. I kid. )

    EK - FC285 Acrylic/Nickel:

    EK Mosfet Acetal:

I'm currently undecided on which SSDs to go with on this build. In the meantime, I'm taking a few ill-tempered dinosaurs and a few short-fused fishies, placing them in a (drive) cage and see if they all can get along:

Perhaps I'll throw in some SSD Falcons. Falcons are pretty pissed off birds, right? Should be a good mix, right? There ought to be a "Tasmanian Solid State Drive" That would be so punk rawk!

    Nickel Plated HeatKiller Rev3.0 1366:

    I like it a lot:

Set adrift a memory bliss of you:

Straight Outta Cardboard box (hence the unsleeved situation):

I'm in a bit of a quandry. I'm undecided whether to go with the XSPC Res tops to match the shape of the case or the cylinder EK X-Res to match the CPU res.

I'll shall be mounting them inside the case and taking some pics. Hopefully seeing them actually mounted will help make my decision.

    For tobacco use only: heh

    Manpurse:

    The EK-DDC X-RES top:

Hardcore WC enthusiast/experts/professional please avert your eyes. This may hurt a little:
    ...

    ...

    ...

That's it for now. I'll most likely be torturing the CPU with the Zalman fan. No expert testing here. Most everything I do is ghetto rigged and testing temps is no different. Most everything.

Until my next post, thanks for checking in!
